    I could do 20 front squats of 200 lbs when weighing 168 lbs, how can he do the same reps weighing over 400 lbs body weight? This guy is seriously fit and strong.

    Huge fan of yours dude. You and Ronnie Coleman should do some front squats together as you are both awesome at them.

    • @riesenesel176
      @riesenesel176 9 лет назад

      +Roman 225 kg for a double thats nothing for a superheavy.77 kg elite weightlifter can do this and he weighs more than 2 of them.

    • @JRAV03DJE
      @JRAV03DJE 9 лет назад +1

      Riesen Esel Please show me a video then? As I doubt that very much.

    • @JRAV03DJE
      @JRAV03DJE 9 лет назад

      Riesen Esel Watched the video. There is one Asian dude than can front squat 230KG for 2 reps......but weightlifters would specialize in that particular exercise any way as it makes up a huge part of their 2 lifts. Also just because someone weights a shit load does not mean they will or should be good at front squats. This guy is more of a puller and overhead presser any way and has a shit load more isometric, concentric and eccentric strength than weightlifters because he is a strong man not a weight lifter who by the way have more power and explosive strength and just because he weighs a lot does not mean his front squats are not impressive as I personally do not know many big guys that can front squat 5 plates.

    • @riesenesel176
      @riesenesel176 9 лет назад

      +Roman Most elite strongman are able to do this.Big Z, Eddie Hall, Koklaev and a few others are front squating nearly 300 kg ore more.Oberst legs are not so strong, he ist better in other disciplines, because he is very tall.
      The strongest superheavy weightlifter are able do front squat 300 kg for a double.
      Best front squater today i think is Derek Kendall he is a monster squater.All time worldrecord in clean and jerk in 75 kg class is 215.5 kg from Alexander Varbanov.

    • @JRAV03DJE
      @JRAV03DJE 9 лет назад

      Riesen Esel I agree with most of what you say and clearly you know your stuff. Peace to you Iron brother.

  • @trampley

    I'm curious if he ever uses an Olympic clean grip rather than the cross grip, and if so why not. I find I lose the bar forward a lot more with the cross grip than the clean grip.

    • @DavidTPerkins22
      @DavidTPerkins22 8 лет назад +1

      +trampley No offense to the dude but I can't imagine he has the mobility to get into a comfortable rack position like that. Plus he doesn't want to be an olympic weightlifter so there's no point in him worrying about being in a clean rack position if the cross grip is easier

    • @iairon7609

      he can't even bend his ankles,oly lifting is 70% mobility and 30% strenght

  • @SuperHeavyDave

    220kg for a double? Fuck that is friggin' awesome! Front squats are my kryptonite...

    • @riesenesel176
      @riesenesel176 9 лет назад

      +David Quinlan 77 kg elite weightlifter can do this, i am not impressed.

    • @GlockenspielSAS
      @GlockenspielSAS 7 лет назад

      Riesen Esel A 77kg weightlifter would not lift a 200kg atlas stone or pull a plane, what's your point?

    • @riesenesel176
      @riesenesel176 7 лет назад

      But we are talking about the front squat and 220x2 for a shw isn't impressive.
      I know he is a worldclass stronman, good in loglift pulling disciplines and other stuff.
      The strongest shw weighlifters and strongman like Big Z Eddie Hall are able to front squat nearly 300 kg X2.
      Oberst insn't that strong in the legs.

      +Alex Ettinger invest in a GOOD trainer to show you technique on the basics. contrary to the current trend you cant learn how to work out by watching youtube videos. you need to get in the gym and be hands on with someone who knows their shit

    Does he not have a coach or even a slightly experienced lifting partner or somethin? how does he expect to beat the top strongman if he can't even deep squat? you are only as strong as the weakest link in the chain,so just stretch your goddamn stiff ankles
