    Attack on Titan is a story with no message, and because of that, it depicts many messages.
    It is a tale that portrays the ultimate cruelty and depth of our reality as human beings, more than that, as organisms, organisms that desire to live. Isayama is a deeper thinker than we all give him credit for. What this man must have gone through in his life to come to all of the realizations that he’s so accurately written into his story, I can only imagine.
    The cycle of hatred, our world being so very cruel yet so beautiful, the same mistakes happening over and over, retaliation, right and wrong forever being a grey area, peace lacking something that the animal within us all desire, organisms doing whatever they can to survive, Stockholm syndrome, choosing the right path, hoping you’ve made the right decision, fighting for what you desire…
    Freedom.
    Time and time again I have used this insurmountable story as a topic for my college essays, and every time my professors are intrigued by this story.
    Attack on Titan has changed my perspective on life, no, my perspective on reality, and will continue to do so a little more everyday. It has answered many questions about human beings that I always had, and arisen new ones that continue to electrify the curiosity in me.
    I beg all of you to read this story without a desire for an outcome in mind, think about what Isayama was trying to portray, think about what he was thinking when he wrote what he wrote, think about this story from a philosophical perspective, I promise you, it will make you a much wiser person due to the incredible storytelling. Whether you agree with the themes, the plot, the story or not, please rewatch/reread this story open-mindedly, again and again.
    For creating this beautiful story, thank you, Hajime Isayama.

    Attack on Titan is not just some 'animated series', it's hell more than that. It shows us what it is to suffer, how no side is totally 'correct' in a war, how even innocents get trapped in wars, how ignorant people are when a war starts, how cruel the world can get and of course it teaches us to fight our way through, no matter how cruel the world may be. This edit captured all of that , just too good. Helpless? Find strength to fight through it. Difficult? Find your own ability to make it easier. Scared? Find the courage within yourself to face it. Tired? Think of how relaxed you will be after you get through it. Alone? Find the happiness with the ones you like to spend time with or maybe even find happiness within yourself. You are free and you are special because you are born into this world! This edit is awesome. This show is soo deep and the latest episode with legendary moment of the beginning of Rumbling this has transcended into a modern masterpiece.

    what is driving me crazy is that we clearly see the concept of an endless cycle of hatred in fiction, but cannot see and apply the lessons learned to the real world. People keep thinking in the west vs. east mentality and demonize anyone they dont know past some borders. Its one world with a bunch of people on it. Every single one of them has their own wishes and dreams. Many think alike without even understanding each other and without even knowing about each other. Nobody of young age wants war because the hate doesnt exist. Its inherited, taught by old and bitter people. The result is always the same... old hate from old politicians leads to further conflict for arbitrary reasons. And who is suffering for it ? The young men and women who die in a war for reasons they dont know, for ideologies they dont understand and ultimately never will because they wont see through to the end of it. This is our reality and i hate to see it just happening again as im writing this. This cant keep happening, but it is and i am just heartbroken

    • @lottexy
      @lottexy 2 года назад +17

      It will never end. As long as our world system stays the same, we will compete against each other. From competition, jealousy rises. From jealous, hate rises. There's no rewards for being kind and helpful. Thinking for yourself, being selfish, etc are what gets you far in this world.
      I think the ending of this anime is basically saying that if you don't remove titan power from people ( remove power of money for our case), there will always be violence and hate. People will fight for more power, always.

    Might as well leave a comment here.
    Attack on Titan made me realized that there's no truly a bad person and there's no truly good either. This anime is a depiction of reality as it gets worse every season to the point that we missed the good old days of season 1 when in that time we thought it is the worst thing ever. This story is really outstanding as it does not make biased judgement of characters but a fair and unfair wheel of life. This also made me believe that however small a person is to its enemy, it will never matter, with only a little courage we can face the biggest of challenges in life or to give up without any speciality in a death. This made me realize that i can do whatever i want whether bound by rules or not because it will always us to decide in the first place. But will it lead to tragedy or a happy ending, it depends.

    thank you for this beautiful video, Attack on Titan is not an ordinary story or anime , it 's the story of life and humanity, i love this anime and manga a lot, since it was made till this day, it's simply one of my fav things in life, the beauty about it that you can interpret it depending on your view of life, which you don't see that much in any anime or show. this video shows your interpretation and view for attack on titan which is amazingly beautiful. :)

      Remember that this is fiction. It does not correspond to our world entirely and if you want to learn about our reality, I suggest that you read some actual literature on it. Isayama is extremely cynical and pessimistic and it really shows in AoT. Even though there is still brutality in our world, it is nothing like what Isayama thinks it is. Still a great story.
