Simply Genius , Larry predicted 25 year ago whats happening today , proud to be part of it
Everything is going on to servers, Larry Ellison had a great prediction here
Dude predicted the cloud everyone is using today. Safe to say Larry created AWS.
isn't it a little ironic though that Oracle was pretty late moving to the cloud, allowing Amazon to take the lead
And now he (and everyone at Facebook, Microsoft, Google, etc) knows “what's going on” because he's reading _your_ messages, _your_ mail, and _your_ private files. :D
Wow - so forward thinking! 1998 and he was already talking about the cloud!
against demagogy and gp ahead with the Human innovation, JAH Bless You Larry Ellison,

*satan glare of approval*
Well i feel she's undressing larry with her eyes, lol. But hey, she's a stunning beauty,i guess larry knows and does not mind.
Having a lot of money usually pulls that trick.

Dont look, now, but I think he's a sith lord
Why?
not so sure about that. Looks liked MS is pretty much dead in the water now, and the PC is pretty much disappearing too, with IOS and Android taking over the personal computing space. Recent Forbes online article is worth reading on this subject.
Vid is old no doubt.
1998
Im going to ask him for sum money.. 100k is not going to scratch his pocket..
Cloud computing is still tiny.
wow, he thought about cloud way back in the day..... wow oh wow
Euphoria Soul This is what Larry thinks about cloud computing... ruclips.net/video/0FacYAI6DY0/видео.html
he thought of cloud and a device like the iphone... in 1995. the implementation just wasnt ready at the time.
also the fact everything is an app within the browser.. what we have now.
Yet lost to Salesforce
Cloud computing is 50 years old
What year is this 1998? Alot of tech guys knew cloud computing was coming.
this was in 1998
And this comment was in 2015!
Larry was 30 years ahead of reality.
Playboy, billionaire .... what else does a man need in his life..
To become that
The hell happened to his eyebrows?
Is it me or does she look like she is undressing Larry with her eyes the entire interview and wants to tear off his clothes? LOL
oh please, stop.....
@@LillianWalkerLive you denying that?
My goodness! Thought am the only one who saw that. Even Larry had 2 do blush a little bit.☺️☺️☺️
My goodness! Thought am the only one who saw that. Even the Playboy blushed a little bit.☺️☺️☺️
When you wrote "she" I thought you were talking about Ellison
larry is a genius...anyone else that denies it full of it.
Larry Ellison a real life version of Bruce Wayne without the Batman part.
Ellison was correct about network computers for $300. Most college students have one and it's called a Chromebook
he's like han's gruber and tony stark put together lol

This guy was so ahead of his time. Just goes to show how big Steve was.
Without the help of Ellison the iPhone probably would never have existed, or its development would probably have been delayed.
I think all the big tech CEO's that were at least somewhat in touch with their industry knew that the cloud was going to take over data driven computing. They had access to information on it way before the public, and just looking at the specs makes it pretty obvious that the power and economy of server farms utilizing parallelism is a much better way of doing things than large on-site servers that are expensive and require frequent maintenance.
Larry was talking about cloud computing in 1998... good lord.
He was also 54 years old in this interview. Process that. 54. This guy has seen it all by 1998. He was friends with Steve Jobs, a lot of hatred towards MSFT was coming from Steve, Larry is manipulator but Steve Jobs was the God of manipulation, so he learnt from the best.
Bahahaha
This reporter is so alluring I feel like she is my mother smiling at me cheekily after I have done something naughty
so he assembles data means information about what all? i swear this computer thing is beyond me.. he has developed software to assemble data about world?
That's a technical question above my pay grade, I too swear this computer thing is beyond me :)
What's fascinating about this video is that a couple years ago my son went to work for him in San Francisco! I could have never known that in 2013. I don't think he even knows I have this video up. I'll have to show him. I find that intriguing.
To be fair though a lot of people were making predictions about the cloud computing around that time, and they all (Larry included) have over-estimated the speed of the progress in this field.
3:48 “It's all wrong. Lots of little computers are a terrible idea. You can't see the big picture because it's been sliced and diced, and it's stored in so many different locations. We've fragmented this information [so much that it] makes it _impossible_ to know what's going on.”
- Larry Ellison
After you watch this, watch the Charlie Rose interview just broadcasted last week.Just amazing to see 20 years later how right he was on internet computing..
I think the cloud is inevitable. However, I don't think people in general will ever give up local storage. The cloud is good for backing things up. Its also good accessing your documents anywhere anytime. At the end of the day, I want total control of my data and I don't want to pay some huge software company to access it.
Are they talking about chromebook ? lol
This man is a BOSS!
Thats a cool comment
He and Jobs has something in common...brilliant mind and vision!
He's my crush 😅 . Because I like intelligence and a man who wears well tailored suit. Though simple man is okat too.
To every wise human beings, watch from 3:20 to 4:12. He's talking about everything in one place. If you watch even closer, at 4:13 the reporter says: all you need is a "web-browser"!
which means: today's COULD COMPUTING.
respect to him!
If we look at the market right now. Everyone is trying to sell you a cloud solution. Google Drive, Apple iCloud, Dropbox and especially Adobe who tries to to build an entire business solution. Software, cloud based software services, business catalyst, hosting and marketing services if you compare it with Google analytics+adwords+newsletter services.
So, if we consider the fact that most people are still effected with "software" based on a hard drive, downloading and installing updates and still hoping that all works as before (with several desktop and mobile devices in one network), which ist in most cases not the case ... cloud computing and sync services ... it usually takes some time after every update to make it work again.
I think SJ had this idea already in mind a long long time ago ... the out of the box solution ... looks something like a keyboard and a "glass plate" monitor and an Apple TimeCapsule similar network computer combined with a WLAN router, I would build-in an SSD-Drive ... just in case as a fallback.
Network computers also mean, it has to work, always, 150% software and hardware reliable, no security issues, working smoothly with other network devices. (Apple has still this Airport issue and 1 hop with two Airport devices.)

oh Gosh I read your post and honestly it's above my paid grade lol and I do appreciate your taking time to post a comment.
He predicted cloud computing, but oracle's cloud is at least two years behind
Current cloud models are based on centralized computing. The development of requests to distributed processing of logically linked and physically separate distributed databases optimized for the Internet, distributed web services, distributed infrastructure.
Miladin Djokanovic I hear you...
I'm not sure what your point is. Of course it's based on centralized computing and many companies now use cloud based data production and archiving to manage their digital documents. Thank you for watching this video. Larry is definitely different, lucky for us!
in 2018 internet computing = cloud computing
I admire his achievements but you can't just say all the end user needs is a browser. What about people who use computers to write software or those that use them to design products e.g. AutoCad or 3d modelling software, yeah sure store it on the cloud but can you really rely on that through through a VPN to your companies network and servers. Not everyone uses the internet for social media and shopping exclusively. Desktop computing is still a requirement in many walks of life.
He wanted a 'Chromebook.'
What is the name of the journalist?
Look at the welcoming expression on the beautiful lady interviewer's face when she ask about being a ladies man ;)
11:16 Life is a miracle and I just don't wanna spend it just doing Oracle. Wow sir, awesome.

He was right. And today they call it Cloud Computing... He called it Network Computing.
Hi,soy Sea.
from poor to 56 billion net worth smfh what am i doing with my life
Enough about the danger danger danger. Boat racing is more safe than dangerous
The network computer sounds like the netbook. So much that I wonder (1 Why did the NC die if netbooks/chromebooks are useful and (2 Where did Oracle go with their own netbook idea?
I really admire Larry Ellison I wish I can meet him
I'm sure there are a lot of people who would like to meet him too.....thanks for commenting
Hung out with him for an hour years ago during a SHOW - exactly just like what you see here
7:50 A good reason to despise people who choose to use edge ... choose companies that play nice...
4:38 Larry predicted the Google Chromebook 14 years early
Beware fake news, somethings are exaggerated. I personally think if you want to know something ask. Seek the fact of the matter the truth of the topic.
If you make an autobiography on Larry, casting Di Caprio, the journalist would be shown suc%^** after the interview
Abhi good choice
Genius Mr Lawrence i would know you as soon as possible , this will be my gift fantastic of my life . Please Mr Ellison help me .
Holy crap this is NOT from Feb 2013 :P
Interesting interview....but i do feel that the more that data is hosted in the "cloud" and remote servers beyond customers control, that we have become just mere cogs in someone else's corporate vision. Similar to how Facebook owns all the data your type or upload into it.....all these data centers will perhaps "own" much of the info that we feel is uniquely ours.
When there were more hard drives and conventional data backups that were locked in safes, there was at least the pervasive feeling that we still owned whatever we were entering in onto our computers. Do you agree?
youcanknowanything.blogspot.ca/
There has to be something we can do to take back control over the content we create, it's our i.p. not FB but they put in the T&C's that we agree to let them have it. Abuse of power if you ask me. Not cool
So interesting. Still #Chromebook was bad, maybe in the next 5 years it'll finally work!
Brilliance of this man is amazing, and Google is doing this now.
What year is this from. Videos like this are pointless if you have no reference to the time frame.
his age is mentioned here as 54 yrs So based on this, this vid may be done in 1998
He really is a real-life Tony Stark.
I would have Larry first choice as a Business Advisor , and partner even Elon Musk has Busness statagy. meetings with him. Plus, he gets that LIFE IS A MIRACLE 11:15. and even bought most of Lanai which is an Insane move. Don't know how the State even allowed that .
Certo os artistas só postam fotos eles jovens. Isso Larry Elison sempre jovem. Abraço
1998 or 1999. The video says he is 54. Wikipedia says he is 68 today (Aug 2013). 2013 - (68 - 54) = 2013 - 14 = 1999.
He had the right vision, where did he lost ?
He is just pissing off. Oracle is not good product at all.
I loved expression of beautiful interviewer when she said women at 8:27 ...
Benny You are right, truth is if it's on the net, it's public
Wow ! Chromebook :-)
Today we do computing on an iPad or iPhone

I just noticed he doesn't have eyebrows.
I never noticed that! Lol
sign of low testosterone, or maybe there blond, but it's all good. He's still a genius.

Internet computing===cloud computing...he is such a visionary guy!
I mean it's tiny relative to what it will become. It's a very nascent industry still.
