Thanks for sharing this video with us on RUclips, i love the lightinigs, some are really unbelievable...great thunderstorm...nice job!!! Greetings from Italy
Why is it when lightning goes from cloud to ground from a mile away we can hear the thunder, but when an anvil crawler comes directly overhead from a mile up we hear nothing from that stroke? It's still lightning and it's still generating a lot of heat.
@@normg2242 Now you have me thinking anvil crawlers are higher than a mile up as I previously mentioned. Maybe this phenomenon is happening in the upper part of the cloud where super-heated air doesn't expand the same as it would at lower altitudes. That's a plausible theory.
@@usnva5638 ... we keep getting those thunderstorms around here with bright lightning in the clouds but no thunder. In German they even have a word for it -"Wetterleuchten" (weather luminescence). My guess is again - lightning activities at higher altitudes. I never heard the expression "anvil crawlers" before but if they occur anywhere close to the anvil region, they will have to be at very high altitudes, because that where the anvils usually are, but again, I'm not an expert, I'm only guessing. ..lol...
@@PhotoStormMediaOfficial look again, the windshield wipers whoosh past it covering the star indicted that it’s NOT a reflection! The star stand still as her camera is moving. If it was a reflection, the light would have moved the same time as the camera moving!
@@anthonyguarino4242 I looked again a few more times frame by frame, and the wipers are NOT covering it at all. Also, it's not just a single point, there are other smaller and more blurry ones that are flickering right above it with the same color. Pretty sure it's a reflection from a little green light inside the car, probably from the dashboard.

I guess the air is so thin up there that it hardly makes a sound...

0:33 wow it really became day for a second
Pretty dopee video
Was that a lightning strike or a building burning?
2:49 is that a star in the cloud? How is it possible?
Huh, I have no idea what that is. I didn’t even notice it. Good catch.
It's probably a reflection in the windscreen.

@@rosaliejeanne4681 thank you, it’s a mystery that we never solve. There’s no way that stars can be seen in the thunderclouds.
