This is the hidden gem of the opera. It’s deceptively hard to sing.

      What’s deceptive about it?

@@katieb.1579 People who don't sing think that the second Queen of the Night aria is extremely difficult, when it in fact is not that bad as long as your voice is high enough and you have the notes. But Ach, ich fuehl's has everyone shaking in their boots. It lies in a very tough part of the soprano voice, and it is tremendously exposed.

We enjoyed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Die Zauberflöte today at USC School of Cinematic Arts.

Imagine being the most famous & prestigious opera company in the world and having this as a set and costumes? Don't care what the trend is, it's dumb.

I really didn't enjoy the staging of this production. I was disappointed.

Beautiful, but too much of vibrato on longer notes. Matter of technique and taste.

Quite difficult to imagine her being heard in a theatre as big as the Met if her voice were not as freely vibrant at it is. There is plenty of evidence in this excerpt of her altering her vibrato rate subtly for expressive reasons.
