Just found your channel as buying the VU3 pro. I enjoyed your video as professionally presented, well edited... you took some time to cut bits out... and informative. Have now subscribed but am more into my vintage 70s stuff at the Mo. Good luck and keep bringing out clear, well presented reviews. The editing time is not wasted 😀
Nice! Yeah, Ed, not much to them or a lot to talk about. I just really hope this one lasts longer than the Neohipo version. Thanks again for watching 🙏
Suggestion ... take the brass platter weight, hang it vertically on a pencil through one of the larger holes and ping it with a tap from a small metal object .... if it rings like a gong, you don't want it anywhere near your turntable.
@@RickRuizAudio Just about anything that resonates near a sensitive pickup (needle or mic) is very likely to react to music's vibrations and colour the sound. It's called a "sympathetic vibration" and the best examples (spur of the moment) are the springs on a snare drum vibrating with guitar notes or a window rattling with music playing. You might be able to damp both with a very thin layer of silicone rubber between them, but that will further affect your stylus angle...
I would never remove a video, it results is your view count totals. Please change those videos to UNLISTED, this way you save your views and you can give out links to the unlisted videos if you want people to see them. Or you can change them to PRIVATE if that option is available to you.
I have been using the Douk Audio VU3 One Little Bear for about 3 1/2 years now without any failure so hopefully that brand will have a longer longevity. I use mine to switch between a solid-state and a valve amplifier. I do understand that you use yours a little different way which you are plugging and unplugging different systems at times to evaluate the differences between them and that definitely would put more physical wear to the unit, but it seems like the internals is what failed on the ET30’s.
I have a Neohipo and as I was recording a video with my cellphone I noticed that the VU meters stopped working (not in sync with the music and often times seem to get stuck at a position/not really sweeping) I discovered that it somehow catches the network signal of my phone that when I tried to move the phone a little further from it, the VU meters work flawlessly. Weird but I hope this helps.
I thought about that, but not everyone reads the comments. But great idea. I'll see if I can put one of those slides that you click on, on the video. RUclips might let me edit it. 👍

Thanks Andy. I appreciate the support 🙏👍
Rick, They sent me one of those and I am trying to figure out how to review it. Good video my friend. I now have to buy the platter weight.

I gave that a try. It does ring. But less than the platter, if that means anything. 👍

Ahh. Thanks Michael. Makes total sense. 👍

Thanks for sharing, John. I hope this Douk brand one lasts me longer. Glad to hear yours has lasted. 👍

Ahh, interesting Ray 👍. In my particular case, I film with my camera and my phone isn't close by but good to know. Thanks again.
Not a problem 👍
For the idea of removing the video about th bad VU meters.... why not pin a link to this update in the comments?
I thought about that, but not everyone reads the comments. But great idea. I'll see if I can put one of those slides that you click on, on the video. RUclips might let me edit it. 👍

Whatever gets the job done... I thought Pinning, because it's apparently quick and easy to do.
!Is it enough to run a cable from my amplifier to the vu meter from where the speaker cable is connected?
That will get the meters moving, but you won't be able to switch between speakers or amps if you have 2. But yes. 👍
