When trying for the deepest outside edge I like to have the other leg in a kind of an h position, ready for the next cross over, just in case I put my weight too much weight to the outside, the other foot is ready to catch me. But that's when I'm exploring how tight can I get the curve. It's good to remember that the pretty way has the free leg on the opposite position 😅
