Not only can Will make songs, he can also meme with the best of them. He released a mashup of this song with the theme song for the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and it needs to be seen (heard? idk) to be believed.
I believe I caught some of the undertones in this song but this might be self projection on my part I don't know but if you disregard all the game references to me at least this is about how neurodivergent people (politically correct term for people with mental disabilities like ADHD autism bipolar disorder etc.) are struggling in normal jobs because it's the struggles of having normal work pressure on top of how your brain works differently than others and you don't really fit in like I got autism and a whole lot of other stuff so this is where this might be self projection but the lines where I felt this really shined through were these: "Your sweet but sensitive deplore, Makes use of our daily fight" (shedding light on day to day struggles of neurodivergent people) "You won't believe your eyes, once you notice, what we've got on the inside" "You thought escape was a compromise But the feeling of dread threads through the lies Holding back on the fresh start occupied by cries But the fact remains, We're a broken curse enraged By the fear of a loneliness unexplained We can't be tamed, and you're to blame Exposure made us insane But can you blame us? We were chained up made to dance with no more spark" (honestly this big part and the line after this sells my theory the most for me) (the "exposure made us insane" line could refer to being overstimulated by your environment) "We were made, with a screw loose in our brain left to rot Left to be the failures Followed by an endless sea of whole abominations no longer free" I hope if you look at these lyrics from my lense I hope you understand what I mean combined with the fact that Will Ryan (the person who writes and sings these) is also neurodivergent and has probably had similar experiences I hope this was convincing but if you have a different take on it that's fine too this was a great video and love that you're covering more of his songs (sorry if this is hella long been thinking about this since the song dropped and this was a good opportunity to get it out of my mind)
