Well done you, I know what's its like after spending years rebuilding an old 1943 Oliver tractor that came over here on the lend lease scheme WW2. It gives you a great sense of satisfaction. The thing that you have over all the rest of us is that you have a video record of everything you did to it, I just have still pictures. It is great when someone comes up at a show and says that's a nice piece of machinery, what did you do to it to get it to run. That's when the wife sighs and walks away. Thanks for taking us on the journey. Regards Richard 🇬🇧
Keith, I appreciate your 'uncut' videos so that I not only realize that you are very skilled, knowledgeable, yet not super-human, but also that the slip ups I make are 'normal.' I appreciate your "my shop, my rules" too!
Congratulations Keith. Good Work. Thank you for carrying us along on your journey. Gary, 78-year-old Home-shop-machinist in the Beautiful-Ozark-Mountains of Northwest Arkansas
BRAVO! A huge accomplishment, as others have said. You need not be concerned that we viewers can't see your enthusiasm-- you are clearly as happy as a pup with two tails, as you should be.
Well DONE Keith ! You Did it ! Fantastic ! Thank you for sharing this WHOLE thing lot's a work and alot of extra work to show us ...But I for one really appreciate all your hard work...... You now are my Adopted Uncle ..... fantastic build ! thank you Uncle Keith !
Well Done Keith. You are entitled to feel very proud and excited with your accomplishment of bringing a worn out, scrapped out machine back to good working order. You possess a skill set that is very rare and we are fortunate that you are prepared to share the highs and lows of the work that you do. I have an idea that once that machine is running and doing some real work, it will be quite mesmerising to watch as it takes itself forwards and backwards. Mark from Melbourne Australia.
I have been following this restoration from the beginning. It's great to see it operational at last, and the smile on Keith's face says it all. I'm sure there's a lot of people smiling with you. Good job!
Sometimes a guy has to let the kid out and Keith you sure did that. I had as much fun watching your enthusiasm as you did running the planner. Congrats on a job well done.
Keith you are a legend. I love how humble yet extremely capable you are. I aspire to be more like you every day. Life is a lot like rebuilding old machines. Perfection is impossible. Its the pursuit of perfection that matters. Thank you!
You persevered through a big project! Congratulations, I am happy for you! And thanks, of course, for your detailed explanation/demonstration of how it works. A lot of people cannot wait to see those first shavings...
Lots of work an attention to detail. Great job! I agree with one of the other comments, it looked like the table lifted when it tripped the return dog. I really enjoy watching your channel, and it's certainly better than what's on TV these days!
Magnificent work Keith. I was nearly as excited as you and terrified when I saw the table jump as it connected with the spring loaded pusher - Phew!! Can't wait to see the first chips. Wonderful work.
Well done Keith absolutely fantastic and don't be shy t express your emotions ,you should be very proud of what you have achieved. For me i luv it when machinery is brought back to life and the image of people before you who made them talk. All my machinery is 100yearsor younger and I wouldn't have it any other way.
This is the summit of your Dream, Keith. What a day it is for you. Get that return dog adjusted and let's see some CHIPS. Great job, Keith. Beautiful restoration and innovative power chain.
Great job Keith. Wonderful to see all your hard work of restoration and modification come together in a great machine. and yes I can clearly see the excitement in your face when saw it running. Well done.
Very cool. Nice job Keith, always a challenge bringing a vintage piece of equipment back to life. There is a ton of knowledge that has been lost that you are having to learn all over again. I would have been nervous too. Great job.
This is a great accomplishment! Congratulations, I'm very glad it worked out this time. We've all been waiting for this ever since that monster walked into your shop.
Hi Keith. I’ve been watching this progress from the UK for as you, say i don’t know how many years. Great to see it running at last. I can’t wait to see it cut some metal. What a task to take on Keith. Well done.
Really good to see such a machine being restored not for a museum but for actual use. Nice to hear an American voice pronounce “lever” in the Queen’s English too ))
Wow, great to see it moving. I have been watching the project from the beginning. Of course no one can tell how pleased you are. Great job. I am looking forward to seeing the first chips.
This is a very important video Keith , it will help teach the '' i will not be beat '' school of engineering , a total credit to yourself , thank you Sir .
I love it when you say "in the short rows now" when you get near the finish of a big project. One does not hear that expression often in the modern world, and I suppose it's mostly old farmers and field workers who have any real idea what it means. Great project, and I'm sure we're all smiling for and with you to see this old beauty back in motion.
A monumental achievement and a monumental treat to us for being able to follow you in such a story. I've seen other works in your channel, as good, but this one has been phenomenal. Congratulations and we'll see chips soon!
That is a great accomplishment,Keith. Not many people would dedicate that much work to rebuilding a piece of history as you have. I am looking forward to seeing it cut.
Congratulations Keith!!! . I bet this project would have taken way less time if you were not recording it but I ( and many others) are sure glad you did. Thank you....
Great moment Keith - many congratulations on this epic restoration - can't wait to see the first metal being cut! Well done and thank you for sharing your getting this machine back in working order - soon be time to start on the horizontal borer restoration!!!
Congratulations Sir. You have taken on a monumental and mind bending task, you have persevered and you have prevailed in bringing this beautiful machine back to a life of precision. You have applied myriad skills learned over a lifetime to accomplish this achievement. You deservedly should be fully proud of your efforts. The satisfaction of doing this job, that I know is washing over you now, is something that the majority of humanity never get to experience in their entire lives. I salute you and thank you for sharing your journey with this daunting task. Above and beyond.
So kooool Kool. Im excited to see her moving , I remember when you first showed it. After watching all the videos to get her this far is an amazing feat. I love the old planers and have a federal im still hoping to get my body to allow me to do the best I can restoring it. I ran n set up an open sided planer during my apprenticeship in the 70s. So finding mine about 5yrs ago I jumped on it. Then while cleaning and trying to get my shop set up my spine went. So im very happy for you. The stop lifting the table shows its not hitting the shift correctly you'll have that fixed in an hour.
Well done Keith, that's the most impressive restoration I think I'll ever see. Not going to lie though, when I saw that table ride up over the dog there was a sharp intake of breath. Can't wait to see it make it's first chips, hopefully the fix required is a small one. Seriously impressive work.
Wow. Nice work. Stoked, haven't heard that in a while, but from a railroad steam person, I get a hint of what that means. Milestone of the first order. Congratulations. But, you have to know, I was impressed when you put the gold over black paint on. KBO. Thanks for taking the trouble to bring us along.
Seeing Keith's reaction when the reversing limit dog first missed resetting the direction lever on start-up was an absolute treat. I never would have thought that Keith was still capable of moving that fast if I hadn't seen the evidence with my own eyes.
The split pulley on this machine is one of the simplest, yet most well thought out mechanisms I have ever seen. Thanks Keith for showing us how the machine works. It’s another example of your skill and workmanship.
Does everyone else understand that this is the greatest restoration project on RUclips?
But…wheres the garbage on the floor?
Unless you consider shoving aToyota Celina power train into a Cooper Mini as a "restoration?" Then that one has been running for about seven years.
Comes in just behind Leo's 'Tally Ho' restoration. Just watch 'Tally Ho EP102' - moving the boat and the accompanying music. Great stuff.
@@benlund3905 Social distanced garbage? 😄
Well, I'm sure Keith would agree your restoration of a flame--thrower came close. :o)
That handle trying to pick the table up when it jammed against the stop was a good test of your repair. 😎 You are really close to operating now!
And it makes me wonder if that's why it was cracked in the first place.
Well done you, I know what's its like after spending years rebuilding an old 1943 Oliver tractor that came over here on the lend lease scheme WW2. It gives you a great sense of satisfaction. And there is you with a huge smile on your face and you deserve it........good job
I guess #67 is your lucky number; I have watched every video. The metal workers of the 19th century salute you and so do I!!
Great to see it working despite some adjustments required, a bit disconcerting to see the table jump!
Yes that scared me when the table jumped over the STOP! But it is an easy fix.
That shock to the lever, lifting the table, is probably what snapped it. Proves how strong the repair is!
Yeah i thought that
It was the other stop that made it jump, not the one that broke, which is working perfectly.
You are on the verge of a paragon of restoration. From neglected broken down carcass to a serious workhorse. Congratulations!
Good to see old machines saved to preserve our history and show the evolution of machinery
BRAVO! A huge accomplishment, as others have said. You need not be concerned that we viewers can't see your enthusiasm-- you are clearly as happy as a pup with two tails, as you should be.
Congratulations! I don't have kids but I have restored machines and it's the closest I can compare to the joy that parents have. She's a beauty
Well DONE Keith ! You Did it ! Fantastic ! Thank you for sharing this WHOLE thing

Well done you must be so proud. Bet there are some old guys looking down at you thanking you for getting their machine back on track.

Great job Keith. Nothing better that bringing old iron back to life. Congratulations.
Awesome job Keith! I've never been more emotionally invested in a RUclips video.
Congratulations on a job well done. You look like a new dad seeing his kid for first time.

I have never heard that expression before but understood perfectly when the farming connection was explained.

@@amazonianm8876 Back in Missouri the correct phrase was "point rows". Need to run a picker/sheller on a triangular field to really understand.
And I thought it was from “Disney World”
Having hand picked cotton in south Texas in late summer, the phrase "in the short rows" had real meaning.
I'm anxious to see this remarkable machine working on a project. Good job Keith.
