Some observations I have after seeing your stats: (Disregard this comment if it's obvious; I find it hard to tell. also, i'm not implying you are misunderstanding anything, it's just some food for thought) - Having a fixed average number of viewers means you are actually *continuously* reaching people! - This comes from the idea that if no one new comes, a certain audience X *will* decline over time because of how people's lives change; even when taking into account that individuals may watch you *more* over time. This is a subjective observation I'm sure you can tell better than I can. - So, if you assume that is true, then you need new people coming in all the time to get that number to stay the same. Not enough new people = the number goes down. A certain rate of new people = the number stays the same. A rate even *higher* of new people = the average number increases. So, it seems that to get more average viewers you have to either: - retain existing audience for longer; - increase reach; - increase the % of reached people that become regulars(by, say, choosing a game people want to see, interacting, having a good mic.. so, things you already do.). I think this has a stark side of making apparent the limits of what you can do to grow an audience, but it is also reassuring because it suggests how it's *not* because of lack of trying numbers won't go up; and shows how amazing streamers may not get the highest numbers. I'm not a professional marketing person or anything.. so maybe I'm worng hah :) I thoguht it was interesting to share the thoughts anyway
I love these thoughts, thank you for sharing! Some really wonderful ways of looking at things. I've thought about these points throughout my streaming career off and on but you've presented some of these thoughts in different ways that is really insightful, positive, and interesting. I appreciate it.
