Yes,we pray for him that he would go through this difficult time 🙏🏻 and he did! Then to say such a pianist of performances as you describe them is absurd! I have listened to what you are proposing (pianist Sofronisky against M° Malofeev) and I do not agree. The performance of M ° Malafeev of Verbier Festival is exceptional, splendid and I was able to participate directly in the Recital, then listening to it again on Medici.TV (and it is clear that you are referring to the entire performance, which is not included here). I am very sorry for you, who fail to appreciate how excellent this artist is: but your criticism is absurd and reprehensible, because it also refers to parts that are not here (You don't seem to be telling the truth). Sorry for you. .. Please Mrs. Wong to rate this incorrect unfair post.
Quite imprecise, the anxiety naturally coming by the conflict between 4 beats at left hand then 5 at right hand is annihilated by his constant accelerando. The climax part is lacking dramatic and raw power, the right hand doesn't sing then harmonic structure and phrasing is ignored. There is an excellent version of this prelude by Gavrilov at 18 yo. @Paroles et Musique, I do not agree with you. Sofronitsky in 1960 (recorded) is not A. Malofeev (live) in 2022. Alexander is never imprecise and there is no anxiety. Each pianist plays with his/her own passion and emotions he/she feels whilst playing. It makes everything an individual experience, specially when it is live. We are going to his recital in Amsterdam Oct. 1st. 2022.

E ho preso lo spartito, cosa per me consueta da moltissimi anni, senza rilevare alcuna imprecisione, né ansietà. In questa performance 'è una tensione "spirituale" propria del suonare del M° Malofeev, che partecipa con tutto se stesso in intimo colloquio con la sua audience. La tecnica è perfetta e il quattro contro cinque perfetto ed adeguato, senza sbavature, né perplessità. Continuo a ritenere questa performance eccellente, over the top. Ho anche sentito di uovo la performance di Sofronitsky, sempre spartito alla mano; devo dire che qui ho sentito, in particolare in alcune battute della seconda parte, uno scollamento di ritmo (4 contro 5, ma anche altri - 2 contro 5; 3 contro 5). Sono interpretazioni differenti soprattutto per la personalità dei due pianisti, ma anche per l'epoca. Gli stili cambiano e sono cambiati negli anni. Qi comunque non è questione di stile. Le presunte imprecisioni NON ci sono in M° Malofeev: altrimenti si sta "bestemmiando"! Rispetto l'esecuzione del pianista Sofronitsky, che è pulita, ma con qualche incertezza alla fine del preludio (e lo dico solo perché è stata sollevata MALAMENTE questa discussione).
