So I think I am going to return these and go to Sephora in the city this week and get a new color and her primer. I feel like it might have been the color throwing it off??? I will report back for sure
Loved the video and that you showed us from start to finish even having to reapply 😊 Interested in trying this and always look to you for guidance. My Sephora is close to an hour away like yours and I'm nervous to choose a shade online especially at this price. My skin type is like yours so I'm not sure how it will work for me. As always thank you Elle ❤
Hello Elle, I came over from the Peter Monn channel. He was talking about you and about how wonderful you are, so here I am... I just love his channel. I look forward to seeing all of your videos. I am 53 years old and 4 years post double lung transplant so I am always looking for great ideas for skin and makeup. ♥
For anyone struggling with shade matching your foundation.. Go to Findation.com It’s a GAME CHANGER! I can find my perfect shade in almost every brand.. I hope this helps you!! ☺️
Caroline Auld You can type in a specific product.. right above the list of foundations selected for you, there's a "specific product" icon in blue.. click it and you can find any product in your shade:)
Elle, For $68, the foundation better be stellar! You are absolutely beautiful and this foundation does not do you justice! I have seen you more excited for drugstore foundations!
Well this was fun..watching you do something I have had to do so many times..I seem to always use too many serums in the morning and then even my favorite foundation won’t work...but the foundation on you looked nice to me, you have beautiful skin to begin with but I am sure you are seeing something that I can’t see...I am the same way..I will look in a 15x mirror and be horrified with some foundations...and that is so frustrating... I really enjoyed watching you do a first time impressions on this foundation...hope you decide to do more like this..much love to you...
I really appreciate all the hard work and watching this video gives you so much credibility. I sure wish you would list all the other cosmetics you put on off camera. Your blush game has been on point! I want to know what it is. I loved your lipstick and last Foundation Friday you were wearing a cranberry eye shadow that was to die for. I would love to watch you put all your make up on but if not then please list in. 💕🧡
You always look amazing. I will agree that I’ve seen you wear other foundations that your skin is just flawless in. This one looks okay, (I don’t think you could look bad in anything). But for the price, I would need to love it. 😔
I love your honesty, I really don’t care for the way it looks, especially at that price point it should be perfect . It actually looks tacky on you even after powder. Your right many drugstore foundations you’ve tried have looked so amazing on you. This one is a 👎 . Love you my beautiful friend.. 💋💋💋💋
I have seen others trying this by applying with a brush rather than a sponge or fingers and it seems to look a lot better when applied that way. I think it is meant to be a very sheer coverage rather than medium which is why it looks odd when building it up. It is so helpful to see you try it. Thank you,
@@mariestopa I'm surprised it didn't do great things. Watch Kinky Sweat's review. It's stunning on her. She uses a sunscreen called Beet something? The foundation melted into her skin and looks like skin. I'm curious as to why it worked beautifully for her and not for Elle. She does the closest close up applications of everything I've ever seen.. Worth a look.. 😊
@@AussieChick48 Alicia's(KinkySweat) sunscreen is called Beet Shield. And you are absolutely correct; It looked beautiful on her! I think maybe Elle's problem is that the shade is way lighter than she usually wears, too light, and this is a much more sheer foundation than she typically wears.
Tezza Bradshaw I saw it . Glad it worked for her . Her sunscreen has alcohol and the foundation . . Just something I am not willing to use everyday with so much alcohols. It got patchy . I wanted it off lol.
Elle ~ This is a perfect "review"! Honestly, this is exactly how the rest of us have to go about choosing & using a new foundation - especially attempting to do it after ordering online! so Thank You for choosing to post 😉.
Elle ya make me laugh when ya sing, your’re so funny. Its not possible for your skin to look less than perfect 👌🏻 but I will say that I’ve seen you put drugstore foundation on & it’s looked just as good if not better 😘😘😘
I can’t buy any makeup inline unless I’m replacing a product. Would love your thoughts on Urban Decay. Would love a foundation that doesn’t rub off on everything. I think you have used many other foundations that looked better, but it could be the color.
I really enjoyed seeing the preparation for Foundation Friday. As far as the foundation goes, it didn’t seem like a foundation at all. It reacted to your skin like a skin tint, or a very light CC cream. Because you have such beautiful skin, I would have thought your skin would make the foundation look good. It ended up being patchy looking on camera, in both artificial and natural light. I agree with you that you have many other foundations that your skin makes beautiful. I wouldn’t mind seeing you in the right shade if you can get a sample, but I wouldn’t buy another bottle until you absolutely love it....or get one in PR. 🥰
I just watched Katy review the same foundation however she had the primer and the powder in the pr box. The foundation looked really bomb on her so I think you should get the primer and powder to match and she put it on with the foundation brush they had in the pr box and it really looked flawless. Thought you might want to know. Your #1 Fan💜💚❤️💖💛💙🧡❣️ ❌⭕️❌
Hi Elle! I was wondering if you have done a review on the IL MAKIAGE foundation yet? Was wondering what you thought about it. I don’t think I have seen anyone on RUclips review it unless I missed it. Great review as always! Thank you so much❤️😉
A very interesting review. I watched Michele Wang give the same type of mixed review on this foundation. I would like to hear your thoughts on the new Urban Decay foundation. I love how you give such good wear tests! It is so helpful! Thanks!
I’m curious to know how it works with her primer and powder. I’m almost regretting buying it from her site (hasn’t arrived). I think it looks lovely on your skin.
I don’t care for this one Elle. This isn’t her best work if you know what I mean. She has older products that are the bomb!!! I think for me this formula is definitely a “NO” as with any good foundation you should be able to wear just about anything under it and it still look magical especially when you put at $64.00 price tag on it! Thank you for being 100% and sharing the good, the bad and the ugly with us that’s why I love you so much! 😊❤️ do you have a condominium? Those are absolutely gorgeous love the layout!
Hi Elle can’t wait to see this foundation review! I know Pat McGrath is a very good brand and so cannot wait to see what kind of finish it will give us. Your #1 Fan💜💚❤️💛💙🧡💖❣️ ❌⭕️❌
You have beautiful skin and this foundation does nothing to enhance it. If anything it hides it! For the price Your shouldn't have to work so hard to make it work. I have seen you wear foundations that are less than $10 that look so much better on you! I would recommend that you pass on this one and use foundations that let your gorgeous skin shine ✨. Thanks for the honest review, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your honesty. 😊💛
I won't but it because of the price but, I have never seen you react like this ever with a foundation - it needs a couple of tries I think. Thanks for your honesty - it what I expect from you 💖💖
I don’t think it justifies the price tag. I think other foundations look much better on you. Also, I’ve not read a lot of good reviews for this - it sounds like it doesn’t live up to the hype. Thanks for making the video and for your honest review.
Debra Lee I can’t get over that it costs over 90 dollars in Canada , even being Pat McGrath , that’s off-putting & it didn’t blow me away with the finish at all . Sad yet relieved . I may grab a sample at some point just to see .
Noir Alibi I agree. I was going to try it but after reading and watching reviews, I have not seen or read any that were good so I will pass on this one!
It looks good in natural light. The main issue is tackiness, which interferes with the application of bronzer, blush, highlighter. Maybe the launch should have been in September. For example, charlotte tilbury has teased the community with a new medium to full coverage foundation launching in September. Select youtubers were at the media launch and have already reviewed it positively. So the hype is mounting. IMO foundations should only launch in summer if they contain 50 SPF or higher, and are sweat proof, waterproof and non comedogenic. The PML foundation was super hyped and falling way short of expectations.
Ty Elle! I am NOT buying this one. It’s soo expensive for all the work you had to do to get it to work. It’s not even Med coverage. More Light coverage. Thks for taking one for the team!
So, SO ready! I'd love to hear you review the UD foundation. I have never experienced more anxiety than I did trying to order my shade in this foundation. After DAYS of deliberation, I picked Light 7, fingers crossed! We seem to be pretty close in skin color.
Awww you're so sweet. I can tell you really wanted to love it, and it was so hard for you to say tougher opinions about it. It didn't look that great, but that's ok. 💛
Elle, I just watched Nikkia Joy do a tutorial on this foundation, it’s Winter 🥶 here, But the cost of this product here in Australia 🇦🇺 is $115 AUD, she also used the primer along with the foundation which is $100 AUD, and the setting powder, all up with 2 brushes from Pat MCGrath it’s over $400 AUD, Nikkia used the brush to apply the foundation and liked the way it looked on her oily skin, but she did one side of her face using other primer and her own setting powder which looked a lot nicer, maybe it’s more of a Winter foundation than Summer...just thought I’d share this with you...Nikkia Joy is an Australian RUclipsr Who is a Paramedic here in Australia 🇦🇺....💖💖🤗🤗
Thanks for your honest review! Frankly I’m glad it’s not absolutely fabulous. That price point is more than I’m willing to spend. I saw another youtuber review all of it - primer, foundation and powder - and she referred to it as a system. The primer is $60 and the powder $55. 😱 Yes, I’d love to see your review on the new UD and also the new Fenty and ABH. Thanks!
Thank you for such a comprehensive review! Unfortunately, 💯 Agree with your sentiments on this. Definitely don’t think this is one of the best you’ve reviewed. You have beautiful skin, and it’s not doing it any favors... Would love to see a review on the Anastasia luminous foundation ✌️💕
Thanks Elle! I haven’t seen rave reviews for this one so it’s a pass for me right now especially with so many others coming out. Please review the new UD, Charlotte Tilbury and Anastasia foundations. Those are on my radar for dry skin. Your skin always looks great though! Xoxoxoxo
I am in agreement with the majority of the comments, for the price point and the difficulty you have as an expert makes it a no go. It doesn’t do you beautiful skin justice .
Great video as usual. It always amazes me, when I think foundation is nice but I'd have to get a sample and definitely use, in winter months, here in UK. It's been really hot for us lately.
First let me say "Thank you" for doing the video this way. I loved seeing the process you go through to get a foundation to work. It shows us that even with your expertise foundations can be tricky. This foundation does not seem to be the best on your beautiful skin..at least on camera.
You tuber Nikkia Joy tried it and honestly it looked great. She used the Pat M primer. She has very oily skin and her wear test was fantastic. It just might not be for everyone. I thought it looked good. But for the money there are others that look better.
Hi Elle, this foundation does not give your beautiful skin justice, you are correct, whether in the first hour or search or beyond. I;ve seen much better on you. This makes blush and bronzer appear blotchy on camera. Thanks for your video, your yard is beautiful!! /Cheryl
Hi Elle. Are you familiar with the YT channel 'Kinky Sweat'? Her name is Alicia. She is a Pat McGrath fanatic lol. Check out her review and subsequent use of the PMc setting powder which wasn't in when she ordered the foundation. It is absolutely flawless on her skin. She uses a sunscreen called Beet something and used a brush to apply. Honestly it just melted into her skin. She's not oily but gets a few pimples occasionally. Same with the powder. She used the foundation under one eye and Fenty concealer under the other. I was blown away by the way the powder MELTED under her eyes. It may give you some inspiration. I know this would look stunning on your beautiful skin. xxx
Welcome to my world Elle not having a Sephora near me, it’s so hard trying to match a foundation colour, I wish companies would put beside their product a similar shade from another brand so that it can give the consumer a better understanding of the colour match....I’ve seen you look way better than this foundation for the price it is...hope your able to get a better colour match when you visit in store and then do another Foundation Friday...Much Love 💖
Hi Elle, can we pls see this foundation again on your skin once you have the correct colour. I’m not liking this shade, as you said way too light. Love your deck/backyard so pretty!!🤗
Not sure about this foundation on you. I've seen your skin look better so maybe it's the shade. You always look pretty no matter what. Thanks for the video and all your hard work on this one.
Just catching up on some missed videos!! maybe the colour didnt help Elle but loved you hanging out in this video we love how real you are 😗 #gorgeousskin #beautifulelle #ellesquad
Elle, I absolutely love the nee Urban Decay and for my age of 58 I do not do matte but I love it for my work day as it stays on my t area and doesn’t break up. I agree with others that it doesn’t do you justice. It doesn’t mean it’s bad it’s just not for you.
Using the foundation finder on Sephora works pretty well for me using my best shade match in another foundation. It will give you an exact match or a best match in the foundation you are considering buying.
Love💗💗💗 the realistic video💃🐇 going to the city🏙 looking forward to this review Once Again👌🌷🌷🌷 it looks beautiful and natural light love the lipstick💄 absolutely gorgeous where you live🏞
I've seen other reviews of this foundation where they also do not like this foundation. They say it transfers, doesn't provide enough coverage (too sheer), and it is definitely NOT for oily skinned gals. Tati Westbrook tried it with PM's primer and setting powder and that did provide more coverage and better setting/staying power. But even she wasn't in love with it.
I think that youve looker better in alot of other foundations.Allthough ive seen it on others an thought it looked fantastic. I havent tried it yet though.
Thank you for the review. I've seen alot of videos on this foundation but on young skin and not very much on mature skin. For $65 (before tax), you shouldn't have imperfections, your skin should be flawless. Thanks for the review!
Thank you for this review. I thought I was the only one having a hard time saying no to this. I have done my own review on my channel as well and I truly feel like she has created something beautiful but it’s not quite perfected yet (in my opinion) its $68 without tax which comes up to $73 with tax and I feel like if I have to work so hard to make it work, it’s not worth it in my opinion although I absolutely love all her eye shadow palettes they are gorgeous!! 😍
Just watched another one. It seems as though it needs to be applied with a brush to achieve the skin like finish. No idea why but it's definitely the common denominator. #ellesquad 💞
Tezza Bradshaw she said she did feel it gave a skin like finish but the problem was the foundation stayed tacky, and even after setting it, became sticky again. She’s right though that some foundations don’t play well in the humidity mixed w sweat.
I love your videos and you are so great with techniques but it seems like you pick foundation shades that are too light quite often? Maybe it’s just the studio lighting? I always go too dark. Ahhh the struggle! 🤣
Thank you for all that you do. I think you should return this foundation. I liked your skin better with clee, no 7 drops, and the Maybelline review you just did. I am interested in urban decay but more interest in Uoma, found only at ulta. Wayne Goss and Tati raved about it.
Hi Elle!! Wanted to let u know there is a Sephora across the street from my house....I'm only 20 min from park meadows. It's in the JC Penney at Southlands! Please let me know if you wanna go and I would absolutely love to meet ya over there. 😊 thanks for all you do...love ya lots! 😘😘
I think ur skin looks better in majority of others that you have tried. Usually it looks flawless and skinlike but I thought your bronzer and blush looked patchy w this one and you don’t look glowing as usual. I would return it .
Oh man....i feel your pain with figuring out sunscreen issues...which work best under what primer, under what foundation. I finally figured out my conundrum...but I think for the price, a) you shouldn't need a primer and b) it should be flattering with minimalistic effort. You look much, much better with way, way less effort (you're naturally gorgeous anyway), using less costly products.
Michele Wang had similar issues with it. She applied the Pat Mcgrath primer and foundation and it pilled. She had to remove it and did finally get it to work after applying a very light layer. There was another review online that had the same issue (pilling) when she used it over her primer and patchy after she did get it to work....so you’re not alone. The one thing you all had in common is being 40+. I don’t like the formula so I’m going to pass but after seeing a lot of first impressions and wear tests I think this falls far short of my expectations for Pat Mcgrath. One other thing from Michele Wang’s review re:the translucent powder: is that you get 8x more from La Prarie loose powder(40g) in just the big powder container and then the travel size adds, I think she said 10g. more to total 50g. product (or 10x more). Pat Mcgrath’s Translucent Powder is 5g. That makes Pat McGrath’s Powder more expensive than La Prarie! The website delivery has been fraught with issues too with people not receiving their orders a week later even though they paid for expedited delivery. All in all this is extremely disappointing for Pat Mcgraths first complexion product launch.
Maybe #7?
BTW, it looks great with your undereye. Usually your undereye is several shades lighter than foundation. This has a a very seamless look.
I believe the Sephora stores do not carry the primer or the powder; they just have it online :(.
it's not the color, it's the performance of this foundation: mediocre. I can name a few drugstore foundations that are way better than this one
Yes, please review new Urban Decay foundation

Thanks for your honest review! Frankly I’m glad it’s not absolutely fabulous. That price point is more than I’m willing to spend. I saw another youtuber review all of it - primer, foundation and powder - and she referred to it as a system. The primer is $60 and the powder $55. 😱 Yes, I’d love to see your review on the new UD and also the new Fenty and ABH. Thanks!
The foundation is currently on sale for $27!!! Run, don’t walk!
Uunfortunately I find sometimes that I do have to use the primer that is suggested to go with the foundation. You look amazing.
Actually I did have fun! Adore you Elle.
You have such gorgeous skin!
I’ve been enjoying some stick foundations. Video on those perhaps?
I really think I've ordered too light of a shade after this! Bugger. It's so hard to buy foundation online and we have to do that a lot in the UK.
Thanks Elle! I haven’t seen rave reviews for this one so it’s a pass for me right now especially with so many others coming out. Please review the new UD, Charlotte Tilbury and Anastasia foundations. Those are on my radar for dry skin. Your skin always looks great though! Xoxoxoxo
Yes!!! Review new UD NAKED FOUNDATION and I swear I HATE matching online and I'm so confused on the naked foundation so beware!
It’s a big fail that you tried so hard to like! Thank you for being honest!
Thank you for keeping it real Elle!
I am in agreement with the majority of the comments, for the price point and the difficulty you have as an expert makes it a no go. It doesn’t do you beautiful skin justice .
Yes , please review the new Urban Decay foundation
Great video as usual. It always amazes me, when I think foundation is nice but I'd have to get a sample and definitely use, in winter months, here in UK. It's been really hot for us lately.
First let me say "Thank you" for doing the video this way. I loved seeing the process you go through to get a foundation to work. It shows us that even with your expertise foundations can be tricky. This foundation does not seem to be the best on your beautiful skin..at least on camera.
I would you to do a video of natural looking highlighters 😘😘
Just catching up on some missed videos!! maybe the colour didnt help Elle but loved you hanging out in this video we love how real you are 😗 #gorgeousskin #beautifulelle #ellesquad
thank you so much Sharon!!
It will give you an exact match or a best match in the foundation you are considering buying.
omg why didn't I know about that before!!! lol
Love💗💗💗 the realistic video💃🐇 going to the city🏙 looking forward to this review Once Again👌🌷🌷🌷 it looks beautiful and natural light love the lipstick💄 absolutely gorgeous where you live🏞
Wow! All the shades demo'd seem light to me. Too natural, not enough coverage or something.
But even she wasn't in love with it.
thank you so much. this is exactly what i needed.
Great review! Where did you get your scarf, beautiful?
awe thank you!! TJ MAX
Please review to new fenty hydrating foundation
Chayse MacKayla wait what?? There is a new fenty??? Where have I been.
Lol yes its only new. But really hope u will test it so I no if I should buy it or not I only trust your reviews 😄
@@Puglover130 kinkysweat is a fitness professional. It might have been the shade throwing it off as Elle said
I love your videos and you are so great with techniques but it seems like you pick foundation shades that are too light quite often? Maybe it’s just the studio lighting? I always go too dark. Ahhh the struggle! 🤣
Forever 29 Beauty the struggle is real. I always pick tooo light. I miss living next to a Sephora
I have that Inkey List moisturizer and, after using it many times, I decided that I don't like it under foundation at all.
Maybe it would work well for very dry skin types or for a winter foundation?
Also, would love to see a review of the UD foundation!
