If your looking to have this setup in more than 1 location or on multiple cameras on the property you may want to look at self amplified horns. Only challenge is having a power source near by, the advantage to using a self amplified horn is you can really BLAST the sound in noisy environments and you know have ZONES. Front yard, Back Yard, Side Gate ETC... Cool Video Fred !!
Hey there. I tried this speaker with a TiOC camera hoping that the prerecorded messages would go out over the speaker. Tech support tells me I need a amp for the speaker. Have you tried it with a TiOC?
Yes, you will need an AMP if you have a long run to the speaker to get the volume up. I have a good cost-effective Pyle amp listed in the description to the video. I use that set up a lot.
So I just purchased this dahua camera i did everything in the video but im not having any audio in or out ? Is there something additional i need to do?
No. You should not have to do anything extra. The camera has a built-in microphone so let's start with that. Are you using a browser or Smart PSS to view the camera.
I wanted to ask a question-I have 4 cameras hooked up on my house. They are very cheap but work well. I wanted to hook up the setup you describe above so 2 questions. 1 is the poe switch. My other cameras are wireless so do I need one and why. 2 Is there a cheaper cam you might recommend? Thanks for your time.
I currently have the lorex 8 channel setup it doesn’t have audio out so im setting up a separate setup for only audio out ive bought everything on the list do i need and additional nvr or dvr to connect this standalone dome camera?
Not if it is an IP camera with a built in microphone. Once you log into the camera and enable audio, you can hear it through your PC in a browser or using the manufacturers client software/ phone app.
HOW do i hard wire a PA Speaker if my wireless solar camera doesnt have audio output cables supplied. Can i maybe sotter the PA speaker inside to the factory speaker?
Hi, i like your videos they are detailed, maybe you can help me. what Hikvision camera that i can do this the same set up? thanks, and keep up with great work
A few days ago, these options were working. Now you can't do two things at the same time. If you go to talk option, the camera talk is turned off. Again, when I turn on the sound option of the camera, the talker option is turned off. If you want to do one, you have to keep the other off. Can't speak and hear at the same time. But a few days ago these two tasks could be done simultaneously with the phone.
You have to check if your camera has Audio input on the camera all you would need is a microphone and connect it. Login to the NVR Main Menu. Under the Image or Camera section, select Encode or Audio/Video.
I setup same step with dahua ip camera, but it doesn’t work, why ? Anyone can tell, also any micro for ip camera ( too noisy the build in mic on the camera, I want to get a better one with noise cancellation functionality), thanks you
What is not working? Depending on the distance from the camera to the speaker, you may need a amp as mentioned in the video. I use these. amzn.to/3XXdNJl
You don't need to use that if you have a camera with a built-in mic as this one has. If you do not have a built-in mic, that is where you would plug one in.
Its a 15-Watt Speco horn. This amp is what we generally use: amzn.to/3LkptQB After your comment, I thought about it, and I should have included the amp in the video. I am definitely going to do another video with the amp as the audio isn't very loud without it.
@@WentworthCCTV but would you install the amp near the speaker itself? Obviously it doesn't make sense to run a cable from the cam to network closet to the amp and again back to the camera. Am I right? I thought one can mount it i a junction box under the speaker
Sir, I have an important question! Does the Audio out from the IP Cam, also provide power to the speaker? Won't you need an Amplifier to add in between?
The horn or speaker will need an amplifier if you need the audio to be loud. It works without one, but in a noisy environment you would want the amp. Several people have mentioned this so I will do another video soon including a Pyle amp.
@@WentworthCCTV Thanks for your reply, but if I connect it without an amp, it won't damage the camera by pulling too much power? Only the sound would be low?
Just what I needed to know thank you from Belize 🇧🇿

Yes, we have a separate video on doing this with a Pyle Amp for such scenarios

The cameras would need audio out to hook to the speaker horn and amp. Most wireless cameras don’t have that. What make and model are your cameras?
@WentworthCCT but can't you tap into the factory speaker inside the camera? All you would need is a positive and negative wire right?

How do i enable audio on the camera
you log into the camera and ensure audio is enabled under video parameters.

As long as the camera model has the audio out plug.

What kind of cable should buy if I want to run about 100ft of cable from the Camera audio out to the Amp and back to the Speaker?
I use 18-2 speaker wire. You will need audio plug for speaker out of camera to amp.

does a 50 watts 80 ohms work?
It should, but you would need an amp for that.
how to setup ip camers with built in mic?
If they have a built-in mic, you don't have to do anything. Just enable audio in NVR. What brand and model camera are you using?
thank you so very much
you are very welcome!
