I'm an NP student and feel so frustrated and uncomfortable with ortho evals - I love this no nonsense approach and how you reinforce the education differences between NPs and PTs, it makes sense and helps me not feel so hard on myself!

Hi Liz, briefly the elephant in the room regarding musculoskeletal injuries is connective tissue, which is mainly disregarded, as most have no idea how to approach it. There are a number of avenues here, ingestion, PT, prolotherapy. If you review a rotator cuff injury in a different mindset, you find an interesting outcome with prolotherapy. You are in an interesting position in influencing future treatments, and this can have a significant well being for a lot of people. Bye and thanks for being so nice.

Great question. If you have a positive screening in primary care the best option would be to refer to orthopedic for further evaluation.
