Like others suggested, get the formula mod. Its lighter >> more detailed steering also feels better in my hand but that can be just personal preference.
if you have a wheel stand get some load cell pedals when you can.. i have the tlcm pedals as got em for a good price but the throttle is a bit light.. the simjack UTs or simmsonns pro plus are very good pedals at entry level prices.. theres also the sim magic p500s.. now your in the DD game you really want loadcells to maximise the advantage of your equipment
Man, I'm really debating about buying the R5, I used to have a wheel a g27 and got bored because was so not realistic, the robotic feedback jerky feedback is what I remember most. But I don't know if this is gone with DD... Just don't want to spend that much and see is not that diferent..
Honestly man this is day and night different, Still adjusting now to how it feels as you’ll see in tomorrows video but going from my Logitech to this has got me hooked! I grabbed the brake upgrade for it aswell as the formula wheel rim. That being said I hadn’t fallen out of love with sim racing. What game do you race on?
DD wheel bases completely change the experience although to be fair even the thrust master belt driven wheels feel a lot better than the old logi wheels.. i got a great deal on a logi pro which is probably the base to last me for life but the r5 is a very good base.. pedals not so much but they do the job
@@awakeandwatching953 The pedals have the brake mod and there have a load cell mod for 70dls, maybe then they become a good deal as a base for upgrade. Still debating if I pull the trigger, is a big chunk of money....
@bigtaxx1132 I’ll always recommend a Logitech to people! My g920 treated me very well for more 5 years and an incredible amount of hours. Had zero issues the entire time as well! For me it was time to get a new experience with a direct drive wheel
Logitech its self is great.. i have the G pro with a sim magick gt neo on it even on my non profile full rig i cant handle the full power not to mention it shakes thw whole thing but it was my g923 that got me hooked.. great wheels but not worth their full rrp (at the 7 - 9nm range i drive at i get nice vibrations and only a little flex but once i start going higher it really rocks the rig.. the g pro can peak way over its 11nm sustained out put)
The formula style wheel is a game changer! The FFB on the R5 is super sweet, nice to see you're enjoying yours too! :D
Yeah I got the formula mod as well! Just hadn’t arrived at the same time as my wheel base! Absolutely loving it!
Great first race man! Keen to see how you progress on the much nicer wheel setup 👌
Going to be good fun

Yeah I 100% agree! My formula mod got delivered couple days after the wheel base did but since I’ve had it I’ve loved it even more!

Yeah I’m the new year I’ll be investing in a rig then I’ll look at pedals! I did get the brake upgrade kit which is fantastic for now
If anyone has g293 there is a mod you can download for the wheel that makes it much better.

I'm on the g29 and have been trying to upgrade ha. But I still am decent with what I have
Yeah I was in the same boat! My g920 lasted me a good 5 years and thousands of hours!
Decided to bite the bullet last week out of the blue and upgrade
Rip Logitech. How better is racing with real ffb😂😂
Sooo much better! The logi had a good run and treated me very well!
@@bigtaxx1132 good call chief

That’s crazy! I haven’t got a rig yet but this Moza shakes the heap out my desk and not even close to full haha
