Awesome video and, a great display of parts the Chapultepec castle and park...isent it just a stunning place?..Mexico city really is such a beautiful megacity. Enjoy your week both of you and look froward to what you share next...
I loved your vlog, looked like a big couple of days getting around. I appreciated that you went back to the Castle the next day, it looked lovely and I suppose there was a lot to see and cover. I would like to know if they have dedicated food markets and night markets? I know I saw them in the park but wondered if there were others. I'd like to see them if you get the opportunity to. Well done!! Love the bloopers at the end too.
5:43 guys you have to roll up that thing into a candy pop, they're called cachetadas 😂🤣the vendor was looking funny at you probably knowing you guys didnt know you have to roll it to eat it so your hands dont get sticky 😅
Hello! Yes, "Chapultepec" in Nahuatl, the language of the Aztecs which is still spoken in Mexico, it means "grasshoper hill" because the area where the parks stands now, it used to have this hill that was populated by all these grasshoppers. It was considered a sacred area to the Aztecs.
*The Chapultepec Castle was where Mexico Military Academy sat during the USA invasion of Mexico. It was the last bastion where the cadets made a last stand.*
Fun fact: The "Angel" is actually Nike, greek goddess of victory, and it was erected (1910) by President Diaz to commemorate the centenary of mexican independence; it seems that it was chosen after being seen at the louvre museum in Paris on many of Díaz travels to the City since he was fascinated with french culture/architecture. That's why you can see a little bit of french Influence on some areas of CDMX, just like "Paseo de la Reforma" where the monument is placed and that was also modeled after Champs-Élyses in París. Sorry that was long... Anyway such a great video!!! :D
Chapultepec means Grass hopper hill, by the trail to go up to the castle, a little bit before the ticket house to the left, there is an Aztec rock with inscriptions very interesting (next time you go) but ids hidden you have to search for it, is just in the side of the hill
Thank you! Yes that what I thought! Very cool! Oh that's awesome! That would have been cool to see! Unfortunately we are leaving soon so won't have time to go back and see it 🥲
@@with_krista well good luck on your trip I will post that video soon on my channel, I am thinking to post the Mexico City in english instead of Spanish, to show all the secrets in Mexico City (I grew up here) and I am planning to shot a video on each area is impossible to shot one video and tell all
There are so many Americans from the north now in Mexico City. And almost no one does the effort to learn and speak the language. City, country, culture - it’s only scenery to them.
What else would you like to see in my videos?
More comedy from the guy in your videos 🤣🤣🤣
