what bossa one? the merveilles one was performed in the same arrangement not the bossa version. I prefer that one, his voice sounds softer and broken but it fits with the darker melancholy atmosphere.

Mana never made anything-musical on stage. In most of the concerts he spent the time doing idiot things on stage, while Kozi carried all tha guitar work, and Kami and Yu-ki the rythm section.

This live was recorded by someone from the TV in Japan and his TV recording got shared on the internet a lot back in the early 2000's, it has been uploaded to YT in 2006 back when MM was more popular. Now the file sites with TV recordings like this like limewire or megaupload are gone, but luckly I know people who have been fans of MALICE MIZER for super long, and they share with me this raw TV recording files, those are a little better quality then what you find on YT, but still pretty bad, so I edit them to make them look much better.

Hey there! The instruments are playback, the vocals are live. This is a rule in many TV stations that let bands perform. And as you noticed, a violin bow on a guitar makes no sound at all! They did it for theatrical effect. If you want to see the ultimate middle finger to this TV live, check out Nirvana's live where they butcher "Smells Like Teen Spirit" on purpose since they didn't like this rule. As you see, during their butchering, the music plays perfectly, but the vocals are live and bad on purpose. The video is called "Nirvana Butchers "Smells Like Teen Spirit" On Purpose", it's really funny.
not convinced that the guitarists are actually playing. certainly the piano and violin are backing tracks. slightly disappointed by this performance in that regard!
The music instruments are playback, the singing is live. It's almost always like that on TV performances, the channel's rules. Nirvana hated that rule and made a legendary satirical performance of Teen Spirit on MTV. Look it up!

This sounds like someone ripped some video game music onto a cd and took it to karaoke night then without the random japanese singer knowing, they recorded him singing over the tracks and then took it home, made many copies and sold them to teens. Some of the music is ok, but it just doesn't go well with the vocals. It sounds like the singer is trying to swallow a bar of soap while singing.
