As i understand zirc is conductive but once its oxidized (heated to black) it is not. So that ring must correct the conductivity issues. Thanks for making this. Guessing the rubber switch cover just comes out once the switch is removed?

The McClicky switch doesn’t have any electrical contacts on the top of the switch where it contacts the tail on this Okluma DC0 model. Normally on other models (such as the Okluma DC1) the switches are threaded ‘down’ into a flashlight body allowing the bottom metal plate of the McClicky to contact and complete the electrical circuit. This wave spring/spacer must be needed to bridge the internal gap between switch and body.

Yes, rubber can come out at the bottom. Should not be too difficult at all.
The washer is necessary for completing the circuit (i have learned)

So that's all it takes to swap it? Great, now I only need a reylight pill assembly. I love my dc0, but for my daily use I need a hotspot beam more often than the stock floody beam it came with

You should invest in a pair of snap ring pliers if you're going to continue to open up your flashlights.

I’ve had intermittent failures with the Rey light pill. Meaning that sometimes the light won’t turn on (battery is full). But a few minutes later, it’s fine. Any thoughts on what could be causing it?
