While Steven King is usually pretty critical of the movie adaptations of his books he loves the changes made for The Mist and outright stated that the movie's ending was superior to his own.
'Usually pretty critical'? The only time I've ever known King to be critical of his adaptations was with Stanley Kubrick's The Shining. Which makes sense as that was a very personal story for King in which the movie didn't represent. Other than that, King's been very lenient if not positive of his other adaptations. Hell, if anything, he's well known for being very welcoming of people adapting his work.
12:29- Half-Life was actually inspired by the original short story of The Mist. Heck, the working title for the game was "Quiver" to tie it in with Arrowhead from the story/movie
6:40 the Saturn Awards are most important awards for genre films, which includes Sci-fi. Fantasy, Horror, Thriller and Action/Adventure, and they are awarded by the Academy for Science-Fiction Horror & Fantasy Films, so the Saturns are kinda the specialized variant of the general Oscars which are awarded by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.
the book was from 1980 so yeah it was a book that took 27 years from releash to addaptation. and then 10 years later there was a series of the mist that i think most people didn't like after what i have heard. im not a horror watcher but i did watch the mist. and the ending hits so much harder when you don't have clue what is going to happen...
There was a tv series of The Mist on Netflix several years ago, which focused on three groups of survivors at different locations, switching between them off and on. it looked interesting, but it disappeared sometime after it was added.
There is a video done by PolterGibbst that did an interesting theory about The Mist that makes the movie more interesting and making connections to the Steven King extended universe. That Mrs. Carmody was actually a prophet of a dark god and everything she said was true. Including the boy must be sacrificed to lift the mist. So that no matter how long they waited in the car at the end of the movie the fog wasn't going to lift until the boy was killed.
I remember watching this movie as a little kid, and still to this day this is one of those horror movies that makes me super uncomfortable watching, even after I’ve seen so much. Idk it just activates something in my brain that makes me scared.
Yo, if you're enjoying this kind of stuff, Roanoke Gaming does videos covering monsters from movies, games, and all that good jazz from a more scientific perspective.
The most shocking and psychologically brutal ending I know or heard of in fiction. What I like most about the movie was the creatures were just animals doing normal animal things, and the fact that the monsters of the movie weren't the creatures
The first Star Wars movie, Episode 4, was released in 1977. Alien is one of the most important sc-fi films of all time. Both Alien and it's sequel Aliens are masterpieces
Nc has a trick r treat video you may like to view before the kill count also his reaction to the add in that review funny as he seeing it for first time

The Mist is one of my favorite horror movies.
I wish there were more like it...
It was way too predictable for me, i even guessed the ending before it even happened 😭

hey so fun fact...stephen king loved the ending of the movie so much that he wished that he would have tought that while writting the book
What a gut punch of an ending
Also the spiders are in the pharmacy next door sooner or later the grocery store will be food for them with everyone in it
This was the first kill count I ever saw. It was like 5 years ago.
This used to be my brothers favorite movie until the 2016 godzilla movie came out
11:15 I have a arachnid phobia and this movie fuck me up. But it's still a good movie for me.

All the cultural reference jokes you missed or didn't understand only served to make me feel old.
There was no recount for the mist. Only for the Chucky, scream, and Friday the 13th series.
And Night of living dead.

Not every kill count has a recount
I'll say it here even though it's 2 weeks away, but when you do the Alien franchise KCs, do 2 per video.
Alien/Aliens
Alien 3/Alien Resurrection
That’s the plan
@@theduckgoesmooyou should probably do the same for the Predator franchise
@@theduckgoesmoo Great. Definitely do that with all franchise KCs
16:33 "Is that one of the most shocking movie endings ever?"
Well personally I saw it coming and laughed when it happened, so I wouldn't say that.

Smoke on the water, fire in the sky are song lyrics to a Deep Purple song.
The most shocking and psychologically brutal ending I know or heard of in fiction. What I like most about the movie was the creatures were just animals doing normal animal things, and the fact that the monsters of the movie weren't the creatures
So smoke on the water Is a song by deep purple
One of the Top twenty horror movies of all time
There’s no recount for this movie
2:47 By mentioning smoke on the water he's referencing... Smoke on the Water. (song by Deep Purple)
Hello
I just realized that I've been to Portland, Maine. I didn't remember it being in this movie.

Day three hundred and Seventy Nine of asking for a reaction to Max0r's MGR inaccurate summarization.
