    For a guy who has used a Huion gt-190 I can vouche that this product line is worth your time and money. Just be sure to get the tablet from a serious distributer in case the monitor breaks from shipping or otherwise. I've used my tablet for about 3 years now. My friend has used the GT-220 since almost a year back and it's still kicking as if it's brand new.

    How's the brush delay Jazza? Does it have any minor lags from when you do the stroke to when the line appears? Doesn't seem like it from your review. Looks sweet as fuck for its price. I'm interested.

    I use a Huion H610n and I'm really impressed with it. 10" workspace 2048 levels of pressure and nearly 5k lpi. HALF the price of a wacom and it works perfectly with CS &TB.Its been used in the animations on my channel.

    hi Jazza.
    well, said I would give my view on this Tablet, so, after having it for almost a month now and have to say I love it, as my decision to buy was on this review, have to say thank you.
    Setup was easy. (and yes I did put the stand on the wrong way as well ) :) drawing on the screen is more natural than using my Wacom tablet and as a result you get work finished faster.

    • @irrevenant3
      @irrevenant3 7 лет назад

      He mentions at 3:12 that it has a 178 degree wide viewing angle.
      You can see him drawing in real time at 3:50 which gives you a good idea of the lag.
      He said that the Huion tablet didn't hold back his drawing. I believe he normally uses a Cintiq so that indicates that he finds it not noticeably worse than a Cintiq (and also implies that he doesn't find it better either).
      Don't know about the other questions.
      One I'd like to add is that the surface looks REALLY reflective in the video. Is it?

      hi, I can responde your enquires, the parallax is null if you calibrate the monitor well, this take time, the pen tip feels really smooth when the pen slide and doesn't make noise, except if you don't clean the display or you use water or a cheap cleaner solution.
      the responsive is a +10, very resposive and accurate , i don't have problem at all.
      the cons are:
      only 80hs of pen battery (just one week)
      not anti glare screen,
      pen feels a little cheap but works perfect.
      the weakness of the product are the pen and the cable position rear of the screen when you adjust the stand the monitor sometimes blinks a little because the cables are blended

    Did they tell you to not say Wacom??? felt kind of fake :/ I mean most people do use Wacom(you just kept on saying digital tablets like they were a ton on the market) and would have been nice to know what the differences are.

      @celestethoms 7 лет назад +5

      There actually are a few digital tablets on the market from Microsoft, the iPad Pro, Ugee, and a few off-brand tablets. Wacom is just the most well known. I think he didn't mention Wacom because this wasn't a comparison video. Maybe he'll do one in the future, but he stayed on topic with it just being a review video.

  • @WC3fanatic997
    @WC3fanatic997 7 лет назад

    Damnit, this is why I love you.
    Not only are you humble, and inspiring, and insightful, but you aren't one of those people who is like "Wacom is the only viable solution, all others are absolutely garbage and you are not a real artist if you dont use a Wacom!"
    I have used both a Ugee 2150 and an Ugee 1560K, and (Though the 2150 developed a fault) they both work quite well and had drivers that were compatible with just about any program Wacom could work with. Granted "Wacom Imitations" generally have less quality-of-life additions than the aforementioned pen-tablet juggernaut Wacom, such as a slick non-matte screen and no eraser on the end of the pens, etc, they are very affordable and user-friendly. Not to mention dealing with Ugee has been very pleasant, and when I had to return my 2150 they were exceptionally accommodating and friendly about it.
    I'm not necessarily dissing on Wacom however, and personally I have ordered one of their tablets to arrive soon to use, but the fact remains that in this day and age they are not the ONLY option for budding artists and creative people wishing to move past hindrances with other mediums.
    So I really thank you for being probably the most open-minded artist I have ever seen.

    My experience with Huion : 2 years ago i bought a h610 tablet (cheap intuos) it didnt works, the pen was writing alone even not touching the screen so, it was unusable. I bought a new pen, but same thing, i smach it to the ground (i know) so i didnt get a new one. I tought i will never buy huion again, but i needed a bigger screen as my cintic 12wx, so i came accrosse this gt220, i put away my hate for huion and bought it, for 650€, and now iam happy with it. Realy, the screen is big and beautiful, the pen works nice and all, but its not a wacom so, there is no pen tilt, you have to rechage your pen few time a mounth or less. And calibrate it can be a pain in the ass, but when calibrate it's all good. And YES it's cheap for what it is, the wacom 22inch is 3 times the prices so, it worth the price. Now, like all chinese product you have a (bad) chance to get a problem, but it seems huion are doing better and better, and realy doing theire best.

    Quick question jazza; did you experienced any problems with the driver for instance with the installation or the pressure function not working? I am asking this because most of the time the problem with the cheaper tablets is the software not the hardware. Keep up the good work!

    I actually own a Huion clone tablet that has a few bad sensors (Turcom, and it was 20 USD), and my current monitor is slowly dying.
    If I had any cash, upgrading to that would be perfect for me, even though I'm just starting out. Because if it turns out that animation isn't for me, I will have a decent monitor with the option to use a pen, which is still neat.

My primary income comes from my art, so I want something that promises the same speed and quality I can produce with my Wacom Intuos pro medium and gives me a window to improve on it. Should I go with the cheaper large one or the one that costs only a little more, much smaller but is a market leading product?

    So, I got sponsored by Huion and they sent me a GT 220 v2, the tablet Jazza is reviewing. I used it for a month 8 hours a day. I finished a 6 minute animation with it with no issues at all. The pen is the only thing that might bother some people switching from wacom but it's decent enough to use for professional work.
    I love this tablet and it gave me the performance I expected. It doesn't overheat that much and it only gets warm on the top part for me which doesn't affect my drawing in any way. Lack of express keys isn't ever an issue for me. Keyboard is my best choice.
    Anyway I might have been lucky but I had a great experience with this tablet and animation is my bread and butter so I need something reliable.
    I'm beyond satisfied with this unit so if you're thinking about buying a Huion tablet I can assure this one will make you happy.

    I'd sure like to see a side by side breakdown of features compared to cintiq. price is one thing, but is it worth it to pay the extra bucks for quality?.

    • @npharaoh8675
      @npharaoh8675 7 лет назад +35

      TJ Duprey In my opinion, the only time its worth spending $2,000+ on a drawing tablet(like a cintiq), is if you will be using it for a career. Also if that career will rake you in the money you spent in a month or less. Just my opinion though.

    • @tjduprey
      @tjduprey 7 лет назад +15

      True. But that would be the idea of anyone buying an $800 huion as well wouldn't it? That's not pocket change either. I'm a traditional artist exploring digital. The digital market is where the money is at. So do I save a few more bucks and get the cintiq or blow half that wad on a potentially subpar huion. Is "good", good enough? I take it from your comment, you feel the cintiq is still superior? On a flat value basis, not value for the money.

      cintiq is superior by miles.
      My BF has a 220 like this, his cursor drift is fucking terrible, few cm off at some locations on the screen. Near the middle it seems less prevalent.
      I would say if you want a sure thing, go with a wacom. These alternative things are a little bit of a lucky packet, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose hard.
      Depending on where you live, you might be able to pick up a very well priced older model cintiq like a 21UX for $800. I just did a search for the 21UX on ebay and found a perfect condition one for $800.
      Your call!

      The way I see it, Wacom is good for professionals with some money to spend. It gives them the quality tools they need to make quality art. Huion is good for those on a tighter budget. Whether it be those who are relatively new to digital art, or professionals, who want to upgrade to a display tablet without having to completely empty their bank account. Huion provides a good quality tablet for a lot less. Not as good as a Wacom, but still good enough to make great art. If you are so concerned about Huion not being up to your standards, then go with Wacom. Only way to really know for sure though, is to try one for yourself.

      Funnily enough my Cintiq 13HD gets very inaccurate towards the edges too, no matter how often I calibrate it. Plus I had to RMA this tablet 3 times when I got it because of dead pixels. Don't just always assume "higher price = higher quality". I'd actually seriously consider getting one of these if I ever have the money to upgrade.

      Jeffrey Schreurs I'm not a pro on the tablet industry but I don't see Wacom as having a monopoly. More like they're the apple. So it will be mainstream and they're the initial innovators but eventually other brands will catch up. Just like how apple isn't evil for having a large audience neither is wacom

      the only reason apple exists is windows, and wacom was one of the best ones when the drawing tablets started being a thing, all the others were weird chinese knock offs

    • @shadowsketch926

      ***** as true as that may be, Wacom is running off with the monopoly on it, as even in my country, no other brand then Wacom is shown in public rooms.
      sure it takes but a little research to know there's cheap alternatives, but not everybody trusts chinese production in terms of quality here, hence why wacom is so damn present

    Okay i must add one crucial detail that Jazza did not mention, possibly due to this being apparenlty sponsored by HUION (or maybe his screen didn't do this). The bottom part of the screen gets super hot after only 30 mins - 1 hour of use. This annoys me so much. It makes me anxious that something's gonna break eventually due to the bottom part of the screen getting so hot.

      how much is an apple mac out there by curiosity then, because a good professional wacom cintiq second hand you can grab for $900 and then brand new you CAN get it as cheap as $1400, generally its usually around the $1800 mark up though. But for professional quality (and by the way, the newest cintiq with HD and such has such perfect and stunning colours for real its SOOO SO worth it. I personally wouldnt say the huion is better, but it would fair up as a tablet that is JUST as good. Just not better. However my opinion may be void as im about to spend nearly $200 on colouring pencils XD

    I've been a fan of this channel for a while now, starting ages ago for your oldest flash tutorials. That said, this entire review seems disingenuous. Usually with product reviews, you'd give comparisons with other leading brands, but now not only did you not do that, you don't even sound like you can convince yourself this is a worthwhile product. I think that reluctancy is damaging both to this review and to your channel as a brand.
    I use a Huion H610 Pro, so I know firsthand that there are lots of difficulties that come with Huion products. For display tablets, the drawing surface on top of the display is thick and oddly textured to draw on. I know cables often cut out and pieces stop functioning, even needing to be unplugged and re-plugged every time you want it to start working again. I get that this is a paid review and I understand that you're trying to run a business, but come on. Your best criticism is that the corners are a bit floppy and there's no button to double click? Real criticisms and real answers to why those either warrant or don't warrant the purchase of a product are vital to reviews. People like me rely on you and other artists for fair product reviews. The backbone of your reviews were that you could criticize what you thought was wrong with it which you could weigh against the price and feasibility of the product.
    Sorry man, but you've lost part of me as a fan because it seems you've lost your integrity as a reviewer.

      Justin Sloth well he also said he only used it for two days, which may not have been enough time for the product to have problems. plus not every product huion makes is guaranteed to be problematic.

    • @nbanks9489
      @nbanks9489 6 лет назад +1

      Justin V. Huion may not have the best regular drawing tablets, but when it comes to displays, they are at the same level as Wacom.
      You're using a fairly old tablet and one of Huion's few first I'm sure Huion has most definitely improved since then. They're managing to compete with Wacom which is already amazing.

  • @Kallista.
    @Kallista. 7 лет назад +7

    Save your money until you can buy a wacom, I bought 2 of these, the first one didn't work and had water under the protection layer (and bubbles and rainbowish stains, I returned it.) and the second one's screen isn't well calibrated or broken ( when holding the pen against the screen, the cursor is way lower than the pen, and there's nothing you can do.
    600 € wasted on a tablet that doesn't work like it should.
    Wacom may seem overpriced, but the quality is better.

      Wacom has issues just as huion does as well as other tablet companies. Wacom is just more well known / more expensive and people assume that since every professionak that can afford them buys them, that they're more reliable than any other type of company which is untrue. Huion has improved their tablets to wacom levels over the years and they're shaping up to be worthy wacom competitors.

    • @xunidraws

      true however if u could buy 2 of the tablets for £600 (soz no euro sign :P) then u can get the Wacom 13 pro or 16 Pro? xD so why even bother with the Huion at that point? Huion is mostly for the beginners and have improved. since the old 13hd Wacom is 700 then that's also a good idea. Im getting the XP pen 15.6 because their in the same country as wacom and starting to use their technology more and more

    If anyone is wondering - I got this pen display in late 2017 on a sale, and I've been using it heavily ever since. It still works perfectly. I dislike several things about it but none of them hinder my performance. The worst are: it's difficult to calibrate equally across the screen, because the discrepancy between the cursor and pen position is bigger the closer you get to the edge; the pen doesn't have any indication of when it's fully charged, or how much battery capacity is left; the screen protector is literally stuck to the screen using double sided tape, so dust gets in from time to time and needs to be cleaned (I damaged it once while it was off but it makes no difference in reality). All in all - Huion makes good displays and I'd upgrade in a heartbeat to a newer model with a higher res, fully laminated screen and a battery-less pen, when it's available.

    I bought it! Well it looks like it's finally giving up on me. I opened up the computer today and the right top corner display has a "darkening" edge that's affecting a third of my screen. I've sent a ticket but outlook seems grim. It's a hardware issue that might cost more to replace than buy a new digital tablet. I'm so bummed, it was perfectly fine and it looks like I have to dole out more $$$ for something that lasted only 3 years! :'(

    Last year I bought my Cintiq 13HD. I was choosing between the 13HD, Kingee brand, or Huion brand. The main reason why I settled on the Cintiq is because the company is way more reliable. I've heard way too many horror stories of Huion and Kingee that I didn't want to risk it. I also decided on the Cintiq because it has hotkeys on the side and also an eraser on the pen, which are my main tools that I use in a tablet.
    And to those saying "wow! $799? That's not affordable whatsoever!" Have you SEEN the prices for that size of pen display? A Cintiq that size costs $2,500!! The cheapest cintiq, aka the smallest, is the same price as this Huion tablet that is easily 3x as big!
