I know all my stores here have PLENTY of Nintendo Switch stock. It really looks like we've reached the oversaturation point for this console. There's no way we see another Holiday season with the current console being the primary device.

the end was always there but I think while the Switch 2 is top price and it won't have much during Launch there is still time for people to enjoy The Switch while it lasts. It's is offically over when they drop support for the Switch and that isnt anytime soon. Look how long the 3DS lasted before they pulled the plug.

There still could be one more batch of Nintendo 64 titles for NINTENDO SWITCH ONLINE. And I am still waiting on Super Smash Bros 64.
As for the end of the Switch (at least for the original 2017 model), I think the REAL "discontinuing" date (as now you said "2024") could be in mid 2024. I mean, "Spring 2024" or possibly around "June 2024".

I started out owning a switch . I went to store to have it fixed . The guy at the counter said the money that's used to fix the screen is better to use it to buy a New console .
So I did . My next move was to go up in the series & buy an Oled
& I'll keep owning one until the console breaks on it's own .🎮😅

Nintendo previously had info on the New 3DS XL before Christmas of 2014, and continued selling the previous model. 2 months later, they dropped a new and improved version February 2015.
We could possibly something similar with the Switch early next year as the console has reached its limit of what it can do. A Switch 2 just seems more likely, seeing Nintendo has a good history of backwards compatibility.

Nintendo has a tradition of making their popular console games compatible for newer systems. As close minded as the company might be. So, I'm quite optimistic. DS-games were playable in 3DS systems. Even the GameCube got additional hardware to officially play your Game Boy games on. As much as you can call them the Apple of Gaming, backwards compatibility is a very Nintendo thing.

The reason why i bought one is because my first switch broke . The game screen broke.
So the repair guy said it would be cheaper for me to buy a new console instread of having the screen fixed .
So personally ive had my oled for about 6 yrs.
I still have another 3 yrs for me to play online .
So i hope that wont be lossed . Ive paid too much into my system to continue playing online .
Most of the retail stores are still selling the Eshop cards.
So for me as long as my oled keeps running / playing ..ill keep this & enjoy the best console i ever bought 🎮 & play the Extra 3 yrs.

I am neither happy nor concerned about next Gen from Nintendo. I will say yes I do believe the Switch will be around for a few more years before Nintendo releases their next Gen. No I am not a data miner no I don’t have friends and or family members that have sources that know information. Then why I do I dare say such a bold statement? Nintendo themselves said the Switch is at its halfway lifecycle a few years ago. This ontop of Nintendo never done a hybrid before…therefore it’s wrong to assume Nintendo will treat the Switch life like a console and or handheld because only Nintendo knows and they do these differently. Nintendo can claim…they are predictable by being unpredictable. I wouldn’t be surprised if in 2024 the Switch+ and Switch Lite+ are released as part of the Switch family with a little better processor and performance kind of like New 2DS XL and New 3DS XL and New 3DS.

It would be really cool if nintendo gave us a console like the rog ally a really beefy portable console, but with wireless docking, so you could use the actual console as a controller while seeing the game on the screen via a 2.4ghz wireless HDMI cable. It would also be cool if with a system like this we could also use it Wiiu style. But they should still give you the opportunity to dock it like the switch and I include a pro controller for a more traditional gaming experience. Adding ds and GameCube games to switch online would also be cool, but if it is to be backwards comparable, it would be really cool if some if not all of the ported wiiu games would get an update to be able to use dual screen ui lime on the Wiiu.

The switch oled console is still selling really well in Japan right now. I don't see Nintendo launching new hardware anytime soon. It just doesn’t make sense and there is most likely a Pokémon game next year or in 2025

    Donkey Kong
    Punch Out
    Kid Icarus
    Excite Bike
    Starfox
    FZero
With switch install base where it is it would smart for Nintendo to drive their smaller franchises first to popularity before transitioning to successor.
Earliest for succusser maybe 2025 fall but 2026 still seems like logical path.
Nintendo is clearly trying to chase that ps2 number. This means a Switch Pocket and most likely an All Digital Oled model will still grace us before the successor

All great things eventually have to come to an end. Does that mean the Switch is on deaths row? No, of course not. The Switch is still more than capable of running good games and will likely be supported by Nintendo for a while and indie games for a VERY long time. But I do agree, 2024 does seem the most likely and absolutely no later than 2025. I really have a hard time believing Nintendo still exclusively relying on Switch sales in 2026.

I've said this a few times before here and on other channels but I am expecting them to closely mirror the way that the switch was rolled out with this next system. The way that Tears of the Kingdom was marketed very closely matched Breath of the Wild's marketing and I feel like something similar will be done with the successor to the switch. The logic of safety in business is that if it's worked before then it can work again, and while this isn't necessarily always true, it seems that Nintendo has been in a bit of a groove with this lately in terms of marketing, and having good results. Although the marketing timeline of TotK matched with BotW, it was offset by about 2 months. Copying that directly to the consoles then that would suggest a May launch time for the next console.

According to regular Nintendo-leaker Zippo, the reason that a Switch version of Visions of Mana hasn’t been confirmed yet is actually because the RPG will be one of publisher Square Enix’s very first Nintendo Switch 2 games.
“[Visions of Mana] will be one of Square Enix's first games released for the new system, so that's pretty damn exciting. And that's just the top of the iceberg. Square is planning an extensive support for their next system, with franchises, big and small,” Zippo wrote in their latest blog post.

This does not mean the end of the Switches life. Look at the PS4-5 its going to be 3 years in 2024. The PS5 is just starting to release PS5 only games & phasing the PS4 out eventually.
The Switch 2 has a-lot riding on it. 116 million active switch users. People who just got a Switch this year will most likely not upgrade next year.
Then we have the people who have been waiting for years to upgrade. Regardless if the Switch 2 is out next year, since it will be alot more powerful games will take longer to release.
If dev kits came out this year, then I would assume the console will be revealed in March & released sometime next year. Nintendo never launches a console without a solid set of games behind it.
If they want the same numbers as the Switch the marketing needs to focus on backwards compatibility as a priority. Theres no way Im moving to a Switch 2 without backwards compatibility.
If its only as powerful as PS4 there still behind power-wise.
Knowing they have release schedule for Call of Duty.
We know that the console has to be at least as powerful as a PS4 to run alot of the COD games.
It would make sense to me, to have the Switch 2 be as powerful as the series S. Which isn’t impossible.
The PS Vita was very powerful for a 2011 handheld for example & way ahead of its time. Now that iphones can run Resident Evil Engine games natively. Its not improbable to think the Switch 2 will not be up to par.
It will depend on what they release.
I can see it be only up to PS4 graphics if there aim is to have the handheld mode have those graphics.
But if the dock is apart of the Switch 2 with hardware that would be a big game changer.
Something like the handheld has 8GBS of ram & this chipset (x) but when docked together it uses 12GBS of ram and the dock has (chip x) making docked as an option of a way of playing higher specs without sacrificing battery life.
Thats the only way I can see the Switch 2 pulling off current gen graphics to get more current games.
Otherwise will be stuck in port city for Gen 8. Even some gen 7 titles.
But RockStar even states GTA 6 simply can not see port for GTA6 if its PS4 level capabilities as mentioned.
If Nintendo really wants to compete they will take this console alot more seriously for hardware considerations.
Cause if not I can see alot of people abandoning the platform in favor of new releases that are AA on other platforms that it will miss out on again. Cause it will be the same formula again. Mario Kart, Pokemon, Zelda etc ports from Gen 8, & trying to optimize current gen titles for outdated hardware again.
I don’t want that again. We have had that since the Wii , & Wii U era. Nintendo hasnt invested in the best hardware since the Gamecube. I think they know its time to step it up.

You’re living in cloud cuckoo land. The switch 3 is gonna be a portable system first that’s also a hybrid system like the current switch. It can’t be expected to be as powerful as a PS5 or Xbox series X system PS4 level graphics will probably be the best we can hope for. I’m fine with that because PS4 level graphics were really good for its time, if you’re not happy with what Nintendo doing for the switch successor and go and get Ivor an Xbox or PS5 Nintendo community has no time for people that have long face and that one Nintendo to be like Sony and Microsoft and have broken and unfinished games how Nintendo Wiz now makes them unique and the switch is a unique system that stands out because of its innovation of being a hybrid console.

    • @jaimeerobertswarz
      @jaimeerobertswarz 6 месяцев назад

Speculation has no negativity. As stated, the Call Of Duty deal is set for 2024. So we can use logic to determine we know the Switch 2/Successor will have PS4 level graphics whether it’s handheld or ported.
It can be more powerful than a PS4 if they added hardware such as a steamdeck of sorts.
Speculation for further hardware advancements is just speculation. As we know a Switch 2 running 1.8 TFLOPS 7 years later is completely doable. It will be twice the power of the original Switch then.
Im just stating my opinion and it’s not KUKULAND. With 100+ active users backwards compatibility is a must.
I never said I disliked my switch. But Nintendo doesn’t have the best track record with staying up to date since the Game Cube.
It would be such a waste to see the Switch be a peak again.
It is more realistic to think as well the Switch will still live on. People only talk the Hybrid patents. There are disc based patents as well. With the Switch Lite/ Mini Patent becoming the handheld lineup with a Switch 2 & un named disc based console that a switch can connect to.
Nintendo always has multiple ideas in the works. So we will know soon enough!
