ANIMA CHRISTI by Jandi Arboleda | Communion

CDC's version of this all time favorite communion song from The Best of Bukas Palad Vol 2 album.
As captioned by the Bukas Palad Music Ministry, this song was based on one of St. Ignatius' favorite prayers, a prayer that Jandi learned in preparation for First Communion in second grade at the Ateneo Grade School. However, when he memorized the prayer as he was growing up, he inadvertently missed one line from the original prayer: Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Thus when he set the prayer to music in his sophomore year in college, that one line was not included. Efforts were made by others, including Jandi to insert that one line in accordance with tradition. But somehow, they all proved futile. This is how the prayer has been sung since.

Thank you for this and for the explanation. We sang this in my church in Taipei today for Corpus Christi so have been looking for some nice recordings of it. I would love it if you would record "Kordero ng Diyos" (both popular versions, 2 different composers who have done settings that I have heard recordings). My church in Tokyo (Filipino choir) used to sing it once a month, I really loved it.
