    I'm normally good at guessing where the set is going (I'm learning how to guess block btw) but his sets are incredible and unpredictable. He has amazing hands. 😂😉

    Dang Coach! Wish our teams could skrim somehow. Only problem is we are on the whole other side of the country... (Vermont) Volleyball is slowly becoming something here. Our team is very similar. Our Middle me is (6'6) and then the rest of the team is a group of Vietnamese players with very elite defense, high volleyball IQ, good sets and very athletic hitters. Maybe some day we run into each other at the NYC 9v9 tourney?

    hi! i played JV in 7th grade, skipped 8th grade (i was an idiot) and played again this year in my freshman year. The varsity coach always says to me if i played in 8th for JV i would've been on varsity this year while i was a freshman. so of course next season i realllyyyyy want to play varsity . i play back row (i'm like a libero but my JV coach put me in as setter sometimes in the third set but for the first and second set i'd always play backrow) so i'm defiantly trying to be a backrow person for varsity. but the thing is, pretty much everybody has to know how to play back row so i wanna get really good!
    but i'm always terrified to just throw myself on the ground because in 7th grade i used to be fine with it but i did it one time and injured my ankle really bad. so how do i learn to just be okay with going on the ground again? i know i'll get hurt sometimes and i'm fine with scrapes and bruises but idk just the idea freaks me out now! please do a video on how to "dive" for a ball please!

    • @missmaddiemakeup6577
      @missmaddiemakeup6577 7 лет назад

      ik that you did on video on like technique but can you do one on both technique and the mental block?

    • @vballgodc
      @vballgodc 7 лет назад

      If you're aiming to play Libero, the main benefit is to start low, stay low for most of the point. That way you aren't throwing yourself at the ground, you are shooting yourself parallel to the ground, and then sliding or rolling. And remember when the coach says Stay on your toes and forward leaning? Yeah, the coach really means that. Starting from a flat heel means you will have to dive way more than if you are "ready".

    • @missmaddiemakeup6577
      @missmaddiemakeup6577 7 лет назад

      vballgodc okay thank you! i'm just so scared to get hurt (also getting hit in the face, i always get drilled in the face but whatever😂) i'll just suck it up because hey whatever helps the team right😂

    How come your defense is so awful in comparison to your offense. Like you miss so many balls that are easily defendible if you would just defend from position properly..

  • @sdepountis
    @sdepountis 7 лет назад

    He's got great awareness especiallycon the position of the opposing blockers. Mostcof the times he chose to dump the ball on the second pass, the center had drawn tbe opposing middle blocker away and the defense had opened up waiting for a one spike. Great stuff...

    At 4:25, now THAT is what I call a good unsuspected dump!
