    Great drill and well explained. As a new coach this is amazing as useful defensive drills are hard to come by.

    Love this video, easy for my U13 Girls to comprehend filling that space, a d giving support. Helpful editing as well to help us coaches to see mistakes made. Please keep posting this same quality of videos.

    I like the drill but wouldn't a pass through the defensive line to an attacker be offsides though??

      Hi, we were working on the midfield 4 for the most part in this session but I believe it can be adapted for either you back 4 or midfield unit. Thanks for watching!

    just curious what space you play this in?

    • @jackpn21
      @jackpn21  2 года назад +1

      Hi, you can vary as you see fit but it was around 40yds wide and 30yds long.

      @@jackpn21 Hi thanks! Another question, if you had more players, in your opinion, would you add to that line or just rotate them in. I'm trying to think of other areas I might be able to play them as well in the same drill if they weren't on the line of 4 (which I'm debating if I would want to add there).

      @@rvlife5103 Hi, I think it would depend on your formation and what you want to focus on. We were focussing on a midfield 4 actually so I was happy with 4. There's also a matter of adapting the practice to your anticipated turn out. You could 2 players either side of the lines, the team in possession, and add defenders between them at each end if wanted.

    When the coach touched the ball more times than the players ... something needs improving :)

      Thanks for interest in the video. I’m a Player/Coach so do often join in sessions! 😁 And it was a practice based around developing players being out of possession, so no players were missing out. If you have an extra player available, just replace the role the coach is doing here with them. Hope that helps!

      @@jackpn21 thanks for the answer. I still think it's a missed opportunity for players to learn to break the lines. Being on the 2 sides will help them be better at defending by knowing how the attacker thinks. Good luck 😁

      @@simiondolha Obviously adapt it as you see fit. Coaching is all about adapting it to your specific needs. Our outcomes from this session were really positive so I’m happy with it but always alternatives and ways to improve it - which is why I enjoy coaching so much! All the best
