He basically said that much like most first tennis players in Iran, he was the son of a gardner that worked in iran's first sports center and ever since he was 2 years old he'd start walking on the grass and couldnt afford to buy his racket as it costed as much as his father's one month salary.
He wanted to play tennis but back then it was considered to be an aristocratic sport and "peasants" were not allowed.
He'd practice with sticks and frying pans with the wall or in the bottom of a deep empty pool.
One of his friends bought him his first racket and he snuck into a tennis field to practice but the gaurd beat him up and threw him around six times with blood everywhere and broke his racket.
Them came about 1978 when this sport was seen as too western and people tried to shut it down.
Fortunately before things got too insane, he got a visa to play in France.
He used his connections as much as he could have to add at least two months to his visa but after that there was nothing anyone could do for him.
Then he became and illegal migrant walking the streets of Paris trying to look like an average pedestrian.
Then one of his other connections got him a one year deal.
He played well and people noticed him and in a France 7 f.m interview he explained his situation and many sympathized with him as many Iranian criminals could get easy legal status but a poor guy like him who just wanted to play tennis, has to struggle endlessly and things are still tough.
He got help and got French citizenship eventually... blah blah he is still kicking it even when most players prime years are 20 to 30.

Wish I could provide that for you but here is a summary.
He grew up in Iran. His dad was a gardener and didnt earn much hence he used planks of wood and played against the wall by him self. Later as he grew up he became a ball boy and with his saved money he bought a racket and started playing until he joined the Iran's national team.
Unfortunately soon after Iran faced revolution and Tennis got banned. He sneaked in a tennis court once and a 40 year old agent caught him and smashed him onto concrete and broke his racket. That was when he illegally migrated to france.
he was homeless for a while and gradually got a chance to play and won some of the best french players. Got interviewed on French media and said he was illegal and with the help of media he got a 1 year stay.
during his 20-30s he was stuck in France and couldn't leave the country due to his situation hence he played 2-3 pro games that were held in France hence didn't get a chance to really shine. After he reached 30 years old he could get visas to travel and started playing internationally but by then he could no longer play solo and had to play dual mode. He started playing for more of a showmanship and to make people laugh as he considered it a rewarding experience.
fun fact- there is a room full of photos. He had more than 150 cups he wont there and one day through half of them out because he didn't have room and his friend that saw that picked them up and melted them into one cup so he could keep them :)

در زمان پادشاهی ایران ما تو خراب‌ها در خاک و شن با توپ کدهایی که از پارچهای پرهن‌و شلوار بود توپ درست میکردیم و بازی فتوبا و وارباب چلتوک که بسبال است بازی میکردم زمینه که ساخته شدن دیگر جای بازی تو مگه ها بود دولت آن زمان زمین در محل ها درست نکردن برای ورزش بچها و این زمین ۱۰۰ هزار نفری را ب دستور کمته مسابقات آسیایی درست کردن و گرنه مسابقات آسیایی انجام نمیشد در زمان ما فوتبال و هالتر و کشتی والیبال بود که در کوچها و خراب‌ها ما باسنگ هالت درست میکردیم و کشتی میگرفتم با بدبختی در زمان شاه ما ورزش میکردیم و قهرمان هم شدیم چندتا زورخانه و باشگاهایی بود که دور بود بما پیاده گرسنه ورزش را یکطوری انجام میدادیم این بود کشور شاهنشاهی که خیانت ها بما در مدارس و بهداشت ورزش کردن جایی را دولت آنوقت درست نمیکردن برای پرورش بچهای انزمان امروز ۸۰ سال داریم 😮❤❤❤😮
