I used to bike this battlefield regularly as a kid while living in the Princeton area.... thrilled to see the work the ABT is doing and look forward to seeing it play out!
Just visited Princeton Battlefield State Park a few weeks ago. All of the changes you are proposing would make it a fantastic experience and fitting with the historic importance of the park. I also walked over tot he Friends Meeting House and the historic cemetery. Better maintained trails with signs would be great.
@johnt.kennedy3856 yes, it is political. I've been to Robert E. Lee's grave, and it was vandalized just like many others.....And I think you know why? It's part of the democratic plan to erase history through division.
Removing any monument or memorial involved in history/ historical figures for reasons some don’t dislike was and is political in this instance. It’s part of the history of this country like it or not! You simply can’t remove it, or those names.
I am a democrat, a public historian, and I am a fervent supporter of battlefield preservation and I volunteer a significant amount of my time to teach history to children to honor our past…so… no… democrats do not want to remove monuments and American history. There is a compelling percentage of our fellow citizens who are understandably offended by the number of monuments dedicated to men who fought to secure and propagate the institution of chattel slavery. Though they may be works of expressive art, they belong in museums where they can be contextualized, not in open public spaces where they were constructed to be revered and remind us of a time when white supremacy was the norm.
You have this guy teaching and preaching about preservation but throughout the whole video he keeps sayings George WaRshington. There is no "R" in "Washington". Pronounce the word right. :)
Thank you all-donating and excited that New Jerseyans are beginning to celebrate our contribution to the Revolution!
I used to live in Princeton in the late sixties - so great to see the battlefield being fully preserved and properly interpreted - thank you

Thanks to Jerry Hurwitz (former President of the Princeton Battlefield Society) for his decades of work to preserve the current battlefield

Glad you enjoyed. Our new battlefield signs are going in in November!
Been there a few times, it’s hard to believe battles were fought so close to home for me
Love it, i want to visit.
Please do! The reenactment weekend is always a good time. Just make sure to pack your coat!
When was this recorded?
Thanks!
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing! I look forward to seeing the changes in the future!
Very exciting!
✌️✌️
All you need is a Private Ryan style movie. Build it and they will come
I love Maxwells field but what about Maxwells silver hammer?
There is no R in Washington.
I donate to the American Battle Trust. It's too bad that democrats want to remove monuments and American history.
Just had to get political….
I don't know of a single case of attempts to remove monuments from preserved battlefields..
