This song was recorded in 2020 and released in 2021 as the first single off The Warning's EP MAYDAY, which contained 6 tracks that would later be part of their 2022 album ERROR. It dives into the crushing weight of overwhelming emotions. The protagonist doesn't seek escape but instead surrenders to the pain, asking to "let me drown" as a way of relinquishing the struggle. According to Pau, it's about being so consumed by feelings that you start to choke on them, offering the song as a space for listeners to feel comforted in their own struggles. Dany added that the music reflects the tension and struggle expressed in the lyrics, with every riff emphasizing that emotional battle. The song is a poignant depiction of hopelessness and emotional surrender.
They wrote everything on their 1st 3 albums. Including this song. Don’t forget, they’ve been a working band since they were ~ 14, 12, and 9. Over 10 years! This last album (Keep Me Fed) they did collaborate a fair bit. Partly because they wanted to expand their horizons and partly because they had to produce the album in the middle of a grueling world tour.
The best band I have seen since Rush and their energy and stage presence make them my all-time favourite. Ale recorded this on the ‘Error’ album when she was 15.
I’m 66 and in my opinion TW is the best Rock Band to emerge in this Millennium. The only band I’ve ever considered travelling internationally to see. You’ve had a taste….on to the Pepsi Centre Concert now. Lzzy, that you mentioned, is a huge fan of TW, who have opened for Halestorm about 40 times now. If you watch more videos from TW keep an eye out for Dany playing a White Gibson Explorer Guitar. Lzzy Hale secretly had it custom built to Dany’s specs and presented to her on bended knee in the middle of TW’s set. There’s a whole backstory to as to why Lzzy gave it to Dany, it was the fulfillment of a promise she had made some 16 years previous. Dany has now made the same promise.
They write their own music. They did bring in some cowriters on the latest album, because they said they wanted to bring new ideas into their music. But they still write all of their music.
.They write all their stuff..it all usually starts with the drummer PAULINA on the Piano composing..You should try the Live stuff from their RUclips channel LIVE AT THE PEPSI CENTER CDMX OR TEATRO METROPOLITAN CDMX 2022
As good as the OMV is, if you want to see this song on steroids, check them out performing it at the Pepsi Center! You can feel they energy through the screen! I can see you get it already! ⚡️🤘
The warning are a fantastic band and their superpower is live performances. Watch all the songs from the concert at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City in 2023 (celebrating 10 years of activity!) and I assure you that you will not regret it.
