I happened on your site and really enjoyed the video. Watching the both of you eat breakfast has made me real hungry for breakfast tomorrow morning. I have been to Muddy Pond on several occasions. The last time was two years ago. My wife and I stopped at a store where they served sandwiches. We had a chicken sandwich that was probably the best ever. We complimented the staff. My wife and I moved from TN about 20 years ago. We own some property just outside the Big South Fork. I am sure you are familiar with. I do like the sorghum from there. I do have a question, what was it that you were eating that you put sorghum on? I lived in the south a long time, but not familiar with that. Also, really like your mules. I have looked at buying a mule, but gave up after seeing what people are asking for them.

I don't have my own land or even a wife lol, but I would love nothing more than to live the life that Mark and Sherry live. They are an inspiration and I'm thankful we still have people like them.
I just love the way Mark is always smiling and enjoying life. Makes me want to slow down and enjoy the things around me. What a great person he is!

Yes it’s important that animals our taken care of always clean area to bed down . We call them working horses or mules hard workers and can pull their wait a sometimes more. There is nothing I see wrong with what you drive to pull a trailor It’s all payed for . Have a safe journey love the scenery.

His hardwork its something that must be taught from childhood...I remember in the previous video, one of Mark's younger siblings said about their father's upbringing: "there is no room for laziness"!!

I cannot drive myself due to health reasons and Tampa is 3 to 4 hours south of me. Maybe John will do a follow up video of you clogging sometime. That would be fun to watch. My dad worked on a farm in his youth.the farmer told him to plough a field with a steam tractor.dad said after "rangling" with the tractor a few rows he took the tractor back to the farmer and told him To give him a good team of mules so he could finish the field in half the time!

Great educational video. I grew up on a farm and learned to plow with a mule. We had two of them and they were like Mark said, we took care of them before we ate. Good people.
You had me at MULES. As a kid in the 1960's we had a 640 acre tree farm in Western Maryland. My dad got the bright idea to start a side business surrounding his interest in the Civil War. In getting all the paraphernalia together he acquired mules to pull the cannons, limbers, and caissons. They came to live with us. We had a horse or 2 also, but I wasn't interested in them -- but loved the mules. Most were Jacks but we did have 2 Jennys - (one that was meaner than a snake). I'm watching several homesteaders channels who seem to be getting mini-donkeys - if I wasn't so darned old (76) I would have me a mule - though one acre wouldn't be fair. You can bet I'll be watching your channel to get my mule fix.

Now I want scrapple! I don't lock my mules up or horses when I had them because I am very afraid of fire. I don't even lock my cat or dog in the house. I do keep my paddocks clean though and my mules always come to me just fine. Sometimes I can't get rid of them! 😂🤠😻

Mountain men considered their mules clairvoyant. By doing so they did better than Balaam. When you consider the travels of Kit Carsen traversing the new nation from coast to coast [many times]ALONE with his mules thru Hostile territory it really makes you wonder how he did that w/o getting killed and scalped. Its said that if a mule REFUSED to take a certain path that the trapper would not push the issue but try another route. Really makes you wonder. Kit preferred slow mules over fast horses in Indian territory. Really makes you think.
