One of the best PC and FPS games ive ever played. Realistic, community is legit. I get better and better each time I play, and its always a new experience.
I bought squad quite a few months ago, it looks absolutely awesome but I've never played it. Always seemed intimidating playing it With randoms and none of my friends will buy it. How is the game with random people?
You've just gotta have a mic. The majority of the players are mature, except during the free weekends.
Mike B Just play man! Nothing should hold you back. I play with randoms all the time, and it feels like an actual milsim. Trust me, just as long as you don't take role as a squad leader since you're still new, you'll be fine. The only other time I can see your team getting heated is accidental TK's and fucking a vehicle over with your men in it. Don't be intimidated, it's completely worth it.
I only play with randoms, most of the time it's a good time. Only bad experience I've had was last night when a free weekend player (a kid) would not stop talking about random shit on comms. Other than that randoms are good. The community is nice and always welcoming to those who try and communicate
Playing seriously with random people is one of the best things about squad IMO
As a person who likes playing with only a few people or by myself, it's nice to join a milsim game without any sign-up process.
Wanna do a milsim op in ArmA? Join a clan/milsim unit.Go through training. Download Modpacks. Scheduled Practices. etc.

I swear these gun sounds are super realistic, it's almost addicting to listen to. I really wish this was for console too.. my gaming PC just died after a good 5 years and have no plans on going that far to play games anymore. But I'd probably get a cheapish gaming laptop just for this and ArmA, everything else I can do on PS4.

The combat on this map is always different... soooo many options! Usually intense the whole round - insane! Can't wait for the new animations, vaulting and free-look!!!

XxRaiderxX Apart from supersampling, yeah. On populated servers I regularly drop down to around 40FPS when a lot is happening.
40 on 40 is cool but expect way bigger. when the dev team made project reality, they pushed the battlefield 2 engine to host 75 vs 75 players on gigantic maps with vehicles. That was truly epic.

can't wait to see squad in its full form. Just imagine the possibility with this game. Like snow maps, maybe some light air support like little birds, not anything big like apaches to keep it infantry focused

to om please I was playing Delta force somewhere between 96 and 99. I used to love crawling on snipers and knifing them. it was the 1st game I really felt like I was playing real people with real rage:)

The Vigilante You should try Squad's predecessor Project Reality. You won't regret it plus it's free. Just look it up on RUclips it's just like squad but with more content made by the same devs.
The first map reminds me of PR. Haven't played it yet in squad. Looks fun!

2. Playing games that require communication in Asia (South East Asia to be specific) is a fucking nightmare.

Squad is an amazing game, the only problem is little dropouts from the bootcamp come along because they were too unhealthy to finish training and start acting like sweaty nerds over a bloody monitor.
This is _finally_ beginning to look like what Project Reality 2.0 might have been. Aircraft and heavy vehicles will clinch it.

Either servers are full (with reserves) or near empty. Want to play but every time I go on its the same situation. Joined quiet servers in the hope they fill up but that never seems to happen.

I was about to say this reminds me soooooooo much of project reality for BF2, so i googled it, and turns out its the same guys who did PR. Well that just secures me to buying this game, i loooooved project reality.

i love arma 2, or the style of playing over long distances. but atleast in this map and the ones ive seen, theres too much open space kind of like battle grounds, it gets to the point where your hiding way too much and then ull see some one and be shooting at dots. i havnt played this but im just describing what i am seeing. it needa more vivid landscape so you think ur safe one second and then you run into 10 people
and i know its based around mid east style, im pretty sure, but joint operations is a good example. they should force an objective or at least have main bases to loot, even if its just a concept, and then have a giant map with towns and acres of forests/ponds/rock structures surrounding the objectives so teams can literally come from any direction. and maybe even ai camps randomly dispersed for both sides to be a threat or advantage, i just think these games need more life/immersion

Squad is based on infantry and Light vehicle combat, the maps aren't large enough for Air vehicles and it wouldn't make a fun game for infantry constantly being mowed down by Aircraft. Its the same reason for why MBT havn't been added like the T-90 or the Abrahms because its not going to be fun if everybody gets one shotted across the map by one of those while in a personal carrier. In addition to that the insurgents would only old soviet era tanks like the T-54 or later T-62 or maybe T-80, which wouldn't be balanced, not to mention the Lack of ATGM's or AA missiles. I will mention tho that the idea of maybe including Para-troop spawns could be interesting, where one squad could para-drop onto a location or area, risking being shot while falling and their location being known to be able to capture a point and hold it until their team comes to reinforce.

Gave me cancer when you tried to dig the radio and not the HAB. If you break the HAB they can't spawn and then you can dig the radio in safety

Will there be destructible walls in the future of Squad?
imagine how great squad would be if they had gta 5 physics like running into other players knocking then down or shoving them when they are trying to shoot you up close. It can also be good when you fall off a building or trying to jump onto another object but accidently missing which causes you to hit the edge sending you down on the ground on your back or face instead of landing on your feet. it will add so much realism to the game.
Really hope the maps aren't this barren in the final build.
