another wonderful video. when my daughters were of the age to be carried in a child carrier we rigged up a small mirror attached to the load lifters so that we could occasionally check on our "cargo". we also added a wet rib for snacks and water.

We were about an hour and a half from Cogne which is near where we started out hike to Gran Paradiso from before. We were going to head over there but there was so much to do in this area so we decided to stay here this time!
Ordered a couple of Wild deodorants to trial - my skin gets so angry with regular supermarket deodorant. Beautiful alpine moments. My heart belongs in the Alps, specifically the dolomites. Not long until we return in van conversion no.2 - hopefully for a full year this time. Fingers crossed for visas! Thank you for sharing your beautiful adventures ☺️
Thank you for another epic video! At the risk of sounding utterly mundane…could you share where you got your new (?) waterproof shell? Also if you plan to do any more gear videos, this is how we found you a few years ago! Have learned so much from your layering advice and what to take etc.. things are ever evolving aren’t they? Which of the shell waterproof do you recommend for backpacking and hiking mainly in Scotland? Thanks!😀🏔🏔
This vlog was just amazing! You captured the beauty and awe of the place so well. I would so love to visit the area and do the hikes but my wife is not into it. Maybe you can compromise one year and do a week at the beach and a week in the mountains. I think we were around 2 hours from the Ligurian coastline here! 😃
Athena, you said 'at this time of year the cable cars aren't officially open' My apologies if I missed this in the video, but when were you out there please? Everything about this place was just gorgeous. I'd love to visit some time and do hikes like these, but would be good to know if it's do-able in May half term or if I need to wait until summer.
Ah yes so we were there in June and the cable cars open from July, but I believe throughout June they were open every weekend. Might be worth checking the Cervinia website as this might change every year! We only used the cable car on one day though, everything else we walked from the valley 😄
What an idyllic place! Very jealous and inspired to have some adventure tomorrow. Watch out for 'biners in babies mouths, when new it's probably alright but rather keep biners where the anodising (colour) has worn through away form her. Aluminum oxide is an irritant.
Okay so you took a professional film crew to Italy and made an award-winning video. You even threw in a little sideline about breaking a microphone to sort of show that you did it all yourself. It is clear that you are both highly trained presenters and you even hired from professional casting the cutest little baby ever. Then the hours of exceptional footage was taken back to some high standard multistaffed editing suite probably in Hollywood and turned into a superb travel video, the likes of which set the bar so high for everyone else. Yes of course this is extreme irony. Of course you just did this yourself and that is just unbelievable.
