The problem no one is talking about is Wiggins and his struggles is domino effecting the team because they are covering for him. Wigs has been playing terrible and it's ruining the spacing for Klay because team know wigs isn't a threat. Warriors need big like up changes and i think wigs need to be traded.
Klay needs to be traded before Wiggins. Klay has an expiring contract, is pretty much washed and doesn’t give you anything defensively. Wiggins at least plays defense and guards the opponents best player. He also is a wing in a friendly contract and he is only 28 years old vs Klay who’s about to be 34
Wigs have been great defensively. Just because his shots isn’t falling dont mean he isn’t contributing big time in other areas. We dont need Wigs to be a big time scorer because we have Jk coming off the bench trying to eclipse him. Klay just need to stop forcing shots and actually let the game come to him.

It's honestly a shame that things didn't work out with the warriors younger players (Poole, wiseman) this team was too old last year and they didnt fix that trading younger players for older in CP3. I think Lavine could look good on the warriors, he's still young and dynamic that brings the pace up to the level of Sacramento and the nuggets

He doesn't actually look that much slower to me. He just looks hesitant to drive to the rim and the league is only guarding his jump shot. Klay is playing good defense. I hope he figures it out.

Lebron and Kobe and Vince made everybody think everybody gets to be in the league for 20 years. They are phenoms. In every way. Normal athletic guys are lucky to get to year 7 or 8 or 9. Klay had an amazing run but it does look like the game is passing him. He's now a shooter off the bench like Korver late in his career. You can not give him 30 minutes or more every game, he's not that anymore. He's a role player now. 6 shots a game at best.

No lie having a decent big would handle all there problems. Just last year warriors had the best starting line up first 40 games efficiency wise.
They were going to trade up for Lively but the Mavs did it before them... he would've been a perfect fit.

The warriors sets required big guys to set screens and free up the Splash bros. Steph has moved on from that era and Klay hasn't. Klay is essentially in his Reggie Miller phase of his career and he needs about two 7ft centers to set screens for him. But that way of playing is anachronistic. What's really remarkable is how Steph has adapted to his game and developed into one of the best iso players in the game by borrowing from Kyrie, James Harden and others; Curry has honed his footwork in the process and looks very little to the MPV Steph. Klay learned to play ISO very late in his development and his body can't take the pounding in the pay when going for a layup. James Harden is similar in this instance. Those freethrows ain't free later on in your career as your body demands respite. Klay looks like a better version of Duncan Robinson when he goes iso, especially when Draymond, one of the best screeners ever, is MIA.
That said, Klay drop off isn't as steep as Chris Paul. Chris Paul feet look like they are stuck in cement and I am not sure he can play without his midrage game. He seems like he can't elevate when shooting and for a 6ft guard that's a problem.
I noticed that about CP3 too...his mid-range used to be so good but he cant seem to get the lift like before. Hed jump n pass on wide open shoots.

He's just not setting up for the shots the way he used to. He's moving slightly, which decreases the chance of scoring. Set up in one spot, go up and shoot. I know this is hard if you are heavily guarded. Players slump at times. He could also have an injury that he is playing through. They don't always say.
See how when the player game starts to change people say the team should move on but when a player sees there no winner chance and wants to move on the player is not loyal

He’s a catch and shoot type of player who finishes off of passes and ball movement. Perkins is talking crazy.
without klay, gsw would not have built that dynasty. he guard the best opposing guard before the injuries. i think it's the team lacking good passing bigs that hurting his play. Bigs who can set great picks and pass him the ball where he can just catch and shoot.

Klay has always needed a create system which gives him catch and shoot looks. This actually shows how great Steph is for both being able to create his own shot but also create looks for others.
Draymond in addition to his defensive contributions also creates catch and shoot looks for Klay. What we're seeing is how bad Klay looks without either of those guys on the floor and how dependent he is on their support. Without them, he looks like a man on an island by himself with the weight of the world on his shoulders and he can't handle it. How many games has Klay played without both of them?

The guy never really had a floor game but could shoot and defend perimeter. Now he can't keep up and he doesn't really know more than his own shot and that is fading fast.
Klay just needs to come off the bench. If he can sort out his shot he can work his way back to the starting 5, but he probably could benefit from getting better looks with CP3 passing to him against other teams benches. Let Podz or Moody start at SG... at least their youth and energy can make more of a difference on defense. Moody has looked better draining 3s with the looks he gets. Podz has shown some all around spark and ability as well in a very small sample size.

@@graigdenis2971 how is someone far from a 20pt a game scorer when he averaged 21pts on shooting splits of 44, 41 and 88? Defense is where we saw the real drop off for Klay but his offense last year was still on par for his career numbers pretty much. It’s also still early in this season to see if he really is “washed.” Last year through 15 games he also was only averaging about 15 a game on terrible splits but turned it around so we don’t know, yet, if he’s truly “washed.”
The last few games I have noticed that ball movement is basically non-existent. Klay is excellent when the ball is moving quickly. When he is hunting shots he has less than mediocre. It's not strictly a Klay problem on offense. As for trading him, I don't think he has much value at this time with his current contract - we'd have to eat that.
@@graigdenis2971 When the ball isn't moving, and people are standing and waiting for Klay to score, that's when Klay is at his worst. Warriors ball movement the past games has been atrocious. Guess where Klay and the Warriors in general are at their best? That would be moving the ball, moving bodies, and making the defence make decisions. When most the offense is with the ball being static, defense doesn't have to make many decisions which in turn makes it easier to key in on particular players. Watch some of the highlights of Warriors vs Rockets of their most recent game and compare it to their loss against the Thunder. 3 historical slumps by 3 future hall of famers all simultaneously can cause the ball to stick with the option that's working aka Paul pick and roll or just Steph being Steph. It's honestly amazing that the Warriors haven't been losing by 20+ every game and it says a lot about the level of professionalism throughout this entire team that they are weathering this storm with dignity. They will turn the flow and when they put it together.....there is not a team in the NBA that will have a chance! Mark my words!

Star heavy teams just don't seem to win the chip because they lack youth and good defense. Bench, sure. Trade, NO. Steph won’t allow GS to trade Dray or Klay, the only way those two are gone is if they themselves decide to leave. Been a Dubs fan all my life but I have to agree with Perk. Klay is 33 years old and I love Klay but he is holding the team back and wasting Curry's last few years of still being elite. If you take the sentimental component out of it, he does need to be traded or at least not be given an albatross contract.

Its not Klays points. Its his shooting percentage. 1 for 10 shooting from a pure shooter on a team that has no rebounding is a recipe for disaster. Klay can mask the poor shooting by becoming more of a slasher and also taking more mid range shots like CP3 does but its uncertain whether he can still do that...he's lost his speed and agility since the injury. Kerr has a real problem on his hands because 3 of his starting 5 players cant score (Wiggins, Draymond and now Klay)

He’s always been a catch and shoot and not create his own shoot guy. The offense doesn’t involve him anymore and it’s not the same motion offense.
Klay is a catch-and-shoot assassin. However, he's dribbling the ball A LOT these days...which is resulting in difficult and/or bad shots.
I actually think it’s better to add that part into his game. Makes him and the team more difficult to guard but if he isn’t hitting his shots then unfortunately it won’t matter.

He was the best 3 and D guy in the league... his defense fallen off a bit but hos shot should be fine... but hes not great at creating his own shot off the sribble and the warriors struggle a lot as a team atm os he does not get open looks. On top of that Wiggins isnt quite performing at the level they were hoping for!
They are making him do that because of poor spacing which comes down to line ups and coaching. They can easily crowd him and make him put the ball on the floor.

Klay was a jumpshooter, now that he had these knee injuries he has to shoot more from the arms and less from the legs which changes the shooting style he grew up on.

Klay has always been a catch and shoot player. Him shooting off the dribble is not his game and it's surprising that he's not playing to his strengths. However, he had a good year last year. So I don't think this slump is gonna continue much longer and the same goes for Wiggins. Dubs fans just need to be patient and watch this team explode.
