I second that, frankly I feel like a proud mummy, I love to see wonderful, intelligent, God filled young men of colour, I was searching for a preaching when something happened at the church I attended just before Covid. I came across this young man who is my age 👀 and I haven't listened to another soul and don't need to can't wait to be able to visit that congregation, they are so blessed to have him.

I am always in awe and greatly appreciative, as a young minister, the amount of black males who are studying, and laboring in this thing called the Gospel ministry at such a high level. So many more men and women are pursuing higher degrees in the study of and in search of deeper understanding and meaning of whom our faith is in and then be able to attempt to live daily and by Gods grace point, by my living, someone to Christ.

As a proud member of St. Johns Congregational Church and one who was involved in the Installation Week for our new Pastor, I will say definitively that Howard John Wesley was absolutely invited to be a part of the Installation Ceremony and reported back that he had a schedule conflict. The original email invitation is still on file! Wesley was also in the area on another occasion and called the current Pastor to say he was going to come to our Revival at the time. Armour Bearers waited until 9pm and he never showed up, nor did he call back to say he wasn't going to make it. Wesley did however, return knowingly when our Pastor was out of town, to attend an event for a member being held at our Church. While there and our Pastor to say, "Hey Doc, I'm here in your Church!" Our current Pastor didn't even know he was coming, nor did HJW give him the courtesy of letting him know he was coming, until he got here. HJW has never reached out to us after declining our Installation invitation. There are always 1, 2 and even 3 sides to a story, but the truth is the truth. I don't usually respond to posts, but as a member of SJ, I'm offended at this reporting. Yes, members were hurt and sad to see him leave, but I don't recall all that I've heard during this interview. While I was sad to see him go, I was excited for him and his family of the new assignment God gave him. One thing one should never do, is believe what certain folks report back to you, when you aren't physically there to hear and see for yourself, as he has obviously been told some things that are not accurate. Pastor Wesley's picture is proudly displayed in our Legacy Sanctuary alongside all of our former Pastors, so I don't know who told him his picture wasn't displayed. He has NEVER been denied access to come back to St. John's, so I'm at a total loss as to why this is being said. To God be the Glory!

Did Dr. Wesley just say he’s reduced the role of scripture at 45:20 from 90% to 60%? And replaced that with his own experiences? God’s word in inerrant and perfect and doesn’t need to be replaced or reduced by Dr. Wesley’s personal experiences.
Just watched him on Jude 3. The discussion topic was inclusiveness or exclusiveness. His stance on salvation was Jesus was not the only way. He said it was the way for him. Not necessarily the way for everyone.

I have listened to a few of his messages and my eyebrow was raised, well now I know what I thought I know. Please don't ask me to explain my thoughts to you.
Pastor Dr. Wesley, thank you for your transparency and clarity. While a lot of your words hold true, there was a foundational statement you stated that needs to re-evaluated. Please consider this. Based on your statement you made about the Bible, you make the bible subjective to the reader. You did not take the Bible as being 100% foundational to your preaching rather just the leading voice. Which is no longer at 90% when you started but now brought down to 60%. Will you like some preachers evolve into using your experience in place of the word of God? When does it stop or where do you draw the line? Please, this is not an attack on you but rather things to strongly consider because it is affecting and guiding your church policy. People come to God's house, the Church to be edified by His word through the one He called. The work of Christ in us because another example that reflects him and not us. so sir, why did you during the discussion use the words "my gospels" in place of the Gospel we are called to preach? Pastor, would it not have been better to say that the word of God is the lens, NO not the lens but the EYEs through which we see things in the world. Lenses can be replaced. like the eyes our mind should be Christ 2 Cor. 2:16 declares, We have the mind of Christ. This is only possible because of faith in Christ. Romans 10:17, says Faith comes through the word. 1 Corinthians 2:16 for, "Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ. I too am struggling with this perspective but as I've listened to him on the topic several times, I believe he's saying do not ostracized them, allow them to come as they are and let love prevail. Homosexuality sends the church into fits but yet they allow known fornicators, adulterers, molesters and the likes to participate and most often turn a blind eye. I do know that if we want them delivered the current way of damnation, mistreatment, and ridicule that the church does to them is not a good witness or effective. Jesus would approach it totally different. Jesus could have allowed the woman caught in adultery to be stoned according to the law but he showed grace and yes he told her don't continue it. Sexual sins are the greatest strongholds because its a sin against your own body. Pray for him that if he's going down the wrong path that the Holy Spirit will correct him.

A saved person (Christian) is not a practicing sinner but a person who has an advocate, Jesus Christ. Jesus addressed this point when He said "I NEVER knew you; Depart from me, ye that work iniquity". (Matt 723). The term "work iniquity" means practice iniquity. A Christian must feel guilty of sin and strive to change. If you practice sin, and don't feel guilty then I question if you are saved. Thanks

I am always in awe and greatly appreciative, as a young minister, the amount of black males who are studying, and laboring in this thing called the Gospel ministry at such a high level. So many more men and women are pursuing higher degrees in the study of and in search of deeper understanding and meaning of whom our faith is in and then be able to attempt to live daily and by Gods grace point, by my living, someone to Christ.

As a proud member of St. Johns Congregational Church and one who was involved in the Installation Week for our new Pastor, I will say definitively that Howard John Wesley was absolutely invited to be a part of the Installation Ceremony and reported back that he had a schedule conflict. The original email invitation is still on file! Wesley was also in the area on another occasion and called the current Pastor to say he was going to come to our Revival at the time. Armour Bearers waited until 9pm and he never showed up, nor did he call back to say he wasn't going to make it. Wesley did however, return knowingly when our Pastor was out of town, to attend an event for a member being held at our Church. While there and our Pastor to say, "Hey Doc, I'm here in your Church!" Our current Pastor didn't even know he was coming, nor did HJW give him the courtesy of letting him know he was coming, until he got here. HJW has never reached out to us after declining our Installation invitation. There are always 1, 2 and even 3 sides to a story, but the truth is the truth. I don't usually respond to posts, but as a member of SJ, I'm offended at this reporting. Yes, members were hurt and sad to see him leave, but I don't recall all that I've heard during this interview. While I was sad to see him go, I was excited for him and his family of the new assignment God gave him. One thing one should never do, is believe what certain folks report back to you, when you aren't physically there to hear and see for yourself, as he has obviously been told some things that are not accurate. Pastor Wesley's picture is proudly displayed in our Legacy Sanctuary alongside all of our former Pastors, so I don't know who told him his picture wasn't displayed. He has NEVER been denied access to come back to St. John's, so I'm at a total loss as to why this is being said. To God be the Glory!

Just watched him on Jude 3. The discussion topic was inclusiveness or exclusiveness. His stance on salvation was Jesus was not the only way. He said it was the way for him. Not necessarily the way for everyone.

I have heard much in this interview that has confirmed my thoughts about Dr. Howard-John Wesley. I have listened to a few of his messages and my eyebrow was raised, well now I know what I thought I know. Please don't ask me to explain my thoughts to you.

Pastor Dr. Wesley, thank you for your transparency and clarity. While a lot of your words hold true, there was a foundational statement you stated that needs to re-evaluated. Please consider this. Based on your statement you made about the Bible, you make the bible subjective to the reader. You did not take the Bible as being 100% foundational to your preaching rather just the leading voice. Which is no longer at 90% when you started but now brought down to 60%. Will you like some preachers evolve into using your experience in place of the word of God? When does it stop or where do you draw the line?
Please, this is not an attack on you but rather things to strongly consider because it is affecting and guiding your church policy. People come to God's house, the Church to be edified by His word through the one He called. The work of Christ in us because another example that reflects him and not us. so sir, why did you during the discussion use the words "my gospels" in place of the Gospel we are called to preach?
Pastor, would it not have been better to say that the word of God is the lens, NO not the lens but the EYEs through which we see things in the world. Lenses can be replaced. like the eyes our mind should be Christ 2 Cor. 2:16 declares, We have the mind of Christ. This is only possible because of faith in Christ. Romans 10:17, says Faith comes through the word.
1 Corinthians 2:16 for, "Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
To the church, we must never stop being like the Bereans Acts 17:11.

I too am struggling with this perspective but as I've listened to him on the topic several times, I believe he's saying do not ostracized them, allow them to come as they are and let love prevail. Homosexuality sends the church into fits but yet they allow known fornicators, adulterers, molesters and the likes to participate and most often turn a blind eye. I do know that if we want them delivered the current way of damnation, mistreatment, and ridicule that the church does to them is not a good witness or effective. Jesus would approach it totally different. Jesus could have allowed the woman caught in adultery to be stoned according to the law but he showed grace and yes he told her don't continue it. Sexual sins are the greatest strongholds because its a sin against your own body. Pray for him that if he's going down the wrong path that the Holy Spirit will correct him.

@@traviousmitchell5601 I see it differently. God don't use PRACTISING sinners (I am including all types of sin). A church may use such a person to the detriment of the person and the church. A saved person (Christian) is not a practicing sinner but a person who has an advocate, Jesus Christ. Jesus addressed this point when He said "I NEVER knew you; Depart from me, ye that work iniquity". (Matt 723). The term "work iniquity" means practice iniquity. A Christian must feel guilty of sin and strive to change. If you practice sin, and don't feel guilty then I question if you are saved. Thanks
