For people who want what the Soul provides there are no deal breakers. I'm on my third one and all have been just fine!

I've had a 2022 lx for 2 and half years. Bought for a daily driver specifically and have put 58K miles plus on it. I change the oil every 3k miles. Changed the cvt transmission fluid at 40k. Other than that it has only cost me gas money and with an average of 38 mpg it has been cheap to drive. To all the people saying it lacks this feature or that trim level, go spend more money and get what you want. I wanted something cheap to drive that didn't break the bank. And for the record, I am 6'3" and 280lbs. No, I dont care how it looks when I get out of the car. It does what I bought it for, to haul my ass back and forth to work or wherever.

If you're looking for a compact and need space, drive a Soul for a week, i think most people will buy. They are fun to drive and the late models are dependable and easy to maintain. I get 38 mpg on the highway consistently.

None of the reasons given not to buy are actually meaningful.

I agree..... This is a cheap versatile grocery getter. It does that job just fine. If you want an overpriced car with all the creator comforts and a 300hp engine....... look at at just about every other car on the market. Not all of us want that.

@@davids.9834 Absolutely! There is no reason for 700 hp. If that's what you want, just try not to kill anyone!

I have to say for the price you are not going to find a better overall car. Yeah it's weird looking but with a 10 year 100,000 powertrain warranty it's a pretty easy choice. Want better? Be prepared to spend a lot more! I am going to buy one tomorrow.

Just bought mine yesterday!! Drove it all day to get used to it as I’m coming from a Genesis Coup and I love it!! I’m a little disappointed that I can’t play my Serius XM but I’ll get used to it with other music. It drives so smooth! Although it takes turns a lot different than the Genesis.

I wouldn't own a turbo anything. Our 2019 Soul runs great, get's better than the milage you noted, and the interior is no worse quality than many higher brands I've seen.

I don’t think you gave one reason why the car should be overlooked for a purchase. I have the 2025 base model. The 2.0 engine offers plenty of power getting onto the highway or getting Out-of-the-way from some idiot on the road doing something stupid. The interior is really comfortable. I really appreciate it especially since I’m on the road for five hours a day. The overall feel of the car is very solid. There has been an improvement in security. Previous models have had problems with theft, but the problem has been addressed in the 2025. As for the looks of the car, I get compliments all the time about how nice looking my car is, a couple people actually told me they are heading to the Kia dealer for their next purchase. All in all is been a great car and I am enjoying my purchase.

I have a 2022 Soul Base it’s been fantastic. My car is my office and it has 68,000 miles on it.
5,000 mile oil changes, coolant flush at 40,000 CVT fluid flush at 50,000.
Up graded the tires with a higher speed rating same 16 inch size.
Only complaint is the heater takes forever to make heat.
    Buying another one in March.

No. If it had a turbo I would avoid it like the plague. Turbo charger = less reliable. more expensive repairs and Maintenace. That's your #1 reason? No turbo? What are you 13 years old old? Most adults try to avoid cars with turbos because they're vastly less reliable and more costly to maintain. Good luck getting 200k+ miles with your turbo. It's not going to happen. It's already bad enough it has direct injection. Direct injection is another issue. Wow it might give you 0.2 more miles per gallon, at the expense of being vastly less reliable and more likely to fail before reaching high mileage.

Engine failures due to machining debris clogging up crank oil passages leading to one or more rod bearing failure.
Reported electrical fires and a electric oil pump is questionable.
Unfortunate for a seemingly nice little car.

The 147 horse power engine is the biggest drawback! How stupid of Kia to offer only one choice! I am trying to decide between the Kia Soul and the Honda Civic Hybrid and if I decide to go with the Civic it will be because of the pathetic 147 horse power in the Soul!

2:39 2:39 I had this same engine in a 2014 Elantra GT. It was fine and performed well. Pathetic? Hardly.

Most reviews I have seen say it's a pretty peppy motor. It's not like it's hauling a lot of weight around. I am going to buy one I think.
