This sounds like great product. I wish I could've gotten something like that for my mom during her low vision years. I love the optical character recognition feature on this. If my phone didn't have a couple of apps that have been game changers lately with the optical character recognition I would probably want to tote that with me out and about. I think of when I could go to Whataburger or something and use it to actually take a picture of the menu board everyone looks at when they go in, or Sonic, since local Sonics vary in their menus a bit.
It's a great product for sure! I just wish that the minimum zoom as less than 2.5. It's a great option for some people out there, but for me, I'm still more comfortable with a CCTV or my phone. When I was younger, I also had a digital magnifier that was around 5 inches that I surprising used a lot to read a ton of books and textbooks, but I can't imagine doing that now on such a small screen! I'm happy with my phone for OCR and my CCTV for long term usage.
I was wondering if you could tell me when you’re using the stand if you’re able to write and the magnified? I’m assuming you are able to and would be enough room to put a hand on Penn underneath but can you give me clarification please
Hi there, yes. You can position it so that you can have your hand and pen under the stand. Because it is gooseneck, you can pretty much position it any way you would like.
Hi Tonie! It is right around $1000 with no stand and $1295 with the stand. I think this is a UK site, so you can try looking at it here. www.visionaid.co.uk/snow-12-with-ocr
Wonderful review. I will have to inquire. I wonder how costly this device is? When I see character optical recognition software. It’s usually $1000 plus
Hey! Thanks for watching. With the stand I believe it's around $1295, and without it's right at 1 thousand or $999. I hope that clarifies that. I forgot to add that int he video... sorry!
Snow max 12 or looky 10?? I've been jumping around for a week now looking for something simple for my dad..will definitely need the extra stand as well. Any hard opinions? He just needs a joystick....audible reading won't be needed.
Sam from the Blind life might be a great person to ask.. I've never seen the looky 10... Sorry for the delayed response by the way. Please note that this channel has been discontinued. Are use my iPhone as a video magnifier. I also have the app for seeing AI on my iPhone that I can use as a text reader. On my PC, I use the Magnifier app and on that app it has a great screen reader.
