Such a great and enthusiastic channel, the word passionate is use a lot for obvious reasons but I have to say about the people who run and produce this channel is it's done with pure passion, and love for the culture of soul music. I used to know KD when he had hair at the casino. I'm not claiming he was a best buddy but that on the scene it was great to catch up and have a chin wag with soul brothers and sisters from around the country. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Soul Archive, good health and long life 🙏
Keb darge, legend!! When the 60s newies scene took off, the turn over of new records being played out was amazing! It was a scene within a scene, and for how popular he was at the time he would always give you the time of day to talk about those new discoveries,he even took the time to do me a few old C90 tape cassettes of all the cover ups that were starting to fill the dancefloors as well as the more obscure 60s garage soul that coming from the mod scene i thought if these records had have been known in the 60s would have been big at the original 60s mod clubs..so i naturally loved them! Keb said during this interview that he was "Vocal"on the Mike, well those of us who were regular at the"Top of the world"would tell you what he's trade mark saying was before playing a record for the 1st Time was..."this is gonna be f*****g massive!! And boy was he right!! Like"in love"Tony Galla.and i could right a book and give you All the cover up titles!..I cought up with keb at the Oddfellows club Leicester all nighter reunion, and had a great chat about the Stafford day's, And I asked him what was he's favourite record from Stafford? So for those of you who still love those 60s Newies Wth as much passion as i do 37 years later ,he told me it was the cirros.."Stop over looking me"...my favourite record spun by Keb?? There's too many to mention but two that stand out.. little John "just wait and see" covered up as jimmi Ray, and little Nicky soul"I wanted to tell you"covered up as Frank Cole and the diamonds.
Nice to hear speedy n irvy get a mention, music hall niters were brilliant.cheers for making some Scottish niters like watching paint dry haha, u are forgiven sir, its only taken me 30yr to forgive 🙏.
Good to see Keb hasn't lost his doric accent remember him well from the TAE KWON DO Elgin and his dance technique at the sherwood suite eight Ackers hotel or the straight eight as we used to call it
Heard it straight from the master" Outstanding Dancer back in our youth" Keb Darge 100mph" Flying Scotsman" and his twentieth century equivalent without a doubt has to be Steven Cootes, ✊
