👏🏻 Mila your review is perfection! Thank you for your hard work and your thoughts on these different styles. The water repellent test was so helpful. 💕
I actually ordered the Bobby and the colour just looked horrendous on me! It definitely has that hint of green and grey that isn’t easy to notice on the lookbook images. Also I’d recommend to size up not only because of the sleeve length but also if you intend to wear a thick knit underneath you’d need the extra room. Loved the leather pieces Mila! Could you do a dedicated video on leather blazers and coats?
@@teresa-j Hi Teresa! 🌺 I’m sorry the color didn’t work for you. Yes it’s a lot more grey than their photos, right? I’m so glad I was able to share it here in real life! Regarding the size, I wore them with my thickets knits (DENISA & Amiel) and even with another jacket underneath (Monica and Will) but there was still room - I wonder if the sizing varies from piece to piece. Sézane sometimes can be inconsistent with their sizing 😩 The body of the coat was quite oversized on my usual size, so I can’t imagine sizing up! 🥹
Loved this detailed review Mila! The Carter trench is so cute! I’ve had my eye on it since it launched, but the light beige shade washes me out a bit. Fingers crossed they release it in a darker color like navy, I’d grab it right away🤞
@@ana_paulav a navy or a khaki would be a dream!! I love this shade but it’s not great against my skin either. I’d wear it mostly opened and let whatever color I have underneath be near my face 🤣
@@milainnewyork It definitely would! and I do the same honestly, I have a few outerwear pieces that aren't in my best colors, and I just wear them open like you do
Thank you, thats the comparison I was needing! When I saw the lookbook I felt in love with the Carter jacket, not Bobby. Now I like it even more. I always liked the Clyde trench coat, but I always thought it wouldnt work for me. And yes, it is about proportions. Im not petite, im 168 cm, hourglass figure, but I have narrow shoulders, so every time I try this kind of coats I look like too hide in fabric. So I think the Carter would be perfect for me. The only doubt is about the color. I hope it comes in warmer colors, fingers crossed 😊
@@rocioespinosa1145 so glad the video was helpful!! Hope they bring these in different colors 😍 All 3 pieces are really great, such practical jackets , but I’m surprised with Carter haha I really like it!! 🌺
Thank you for sharing this informative video again. After learning about Body and Style system I am not surprised that Carter fits you perfectly 😊. As for Petites Clyde is a bit tricky and limited to style: if they wear it unbuttoned with a short skirt/dress or shorts underneath they can wear since it balances their body by bringing back their best line, but for example if it is raining and for example you and Julie would stand side-by-side in a buttoned it up - you would be shining… ❤
Hi Mila. Thanks so much for reviewing the 3 iterations of the Sezane trenches. I have been thinking of a short trench. However, seeing your review, I think the Carter is a better choice. It looks very good on you. I do own the Clyde in the beautiful camel color and I love it.
@@cathymeyer9722 does the color of your Clyde look like mine? I have been seeing photos lately and I feel the old version (mine) looks darker 🤔 Both short versions are really cute, right? I think Bobby feels more casual..the choice really depends on your lifestyle and your body proportions. Somehow I feel that Carter is easier to style though 🤪
Mila, thank you for all your hard and thoughtful work on this video! I like the Carter on you because it works better with your proportions and you already have a few full-length trench coats. I think the wind and rain would just zoom up the back of the Bobby trench. Also, you would probably reach for the Carter more than a full-length coat, especially in summer and on the warmer spring and fall days. I’m thinking the short trench coat will go the way of barrel pants. Too bad so many Sezanne colours are not right for the Soft Summer.
I just got the Bobby too! I have a bigger bust, so it does flare out a bit on my chest. I don't mind as long as I balance my bottom half. I completely agree, it's not about height. I think face shape also has a lot to do with it. The Clyde just looks off on me. 😊
Have you done an entire outerwear collection video yet? That would be very interesting to see. If it would be too long you could break it up into different categories. Coats/jackets/blazers/raincoats/capes/ponchos. Well they are all of my categories of outerwear anyway! I think my outerwear collection totals at 43 pieces. A high number for sure but I live in Ireland, so I get the use. Outerwear is my favourite category and I like variety of colour in all types. That's my justification anyway! 😅
For those that have access to Marks and Spencer I bought their stormwear car coat in navy for 90 euro. They have another colour in buff and just released a longline version in natural beige for 105 euro. They have a very similar silhouette to The Clyde, without the lovely lining though. I might splurge for Clyde in Khaki one day but I'm very happy with my M&S version for now.

A try-on would be great! What's holding me back a bit is that Marion gives more autumn than spring vibes but maybe I'm wrong and it just works in both seasons.
Great video! It's so hard for me to find a nice trenchcoat that works well with my proportions. I love the style of the short, boxy trenchcoat so much, but unfortunately it does not suit me well... I am build very straight with broad shoulders and unfortunately the short trenchcoat completely hides my waist which is the only thing that would give me some kind of shape. On a side note: Where is that beautiful, navy, V-neck sweater from? Thanks! :)
Dear Mila, could you please advise..should I buy Carter 36 or 38 since Sezane recommends size down? I am 168 cm tall, 60 kg...proportions similar to yours...also, I have the Scott trench coat in 38 which is a bit oversized for me..thank you.
@@NevaGirotto I think you should go with 36! I’m 166 and 60kg, almost like you. The 36 fits super well and it’s quite roomy. I think a 38 would be too big, but it depends on how you like it ♥️
If the purpose of the trench coat is for rain, it doesn't look to me like the Bobby affords much protection. If you washed this coat, would it lose its ability to repel water?
@@susantescione8007 good trench coats protect from the rain, wind, cold but they’re not exactly rain coats. Nylon and synthetics are much better in that case. You’re right, Bobby is short, so probably not the best option for a super rainy day unless you’re wearing good rain boots, pants that are weather proof as well (leggings normally are) and a good umbrella☺️ I don’t believe it’s possible to lose the ability to repel water as this is just the nature of this specific fabric ( the cotton and the threads have been woven)
@@milainnewyork My concern would be that cotton wicks. That means a small amount of water spreads rapidly through it and it holds the water next to your skin until the fabric dries. Cotton dies not naturally repel water because it absorbs it. That's why denim jeans are the worst pants to wear in wet or snowy weather. So if it is cotton, then it has to be treated in some way to repel water. If you wash it, does the repellent feature wash away? It's a fiber/chemistry question.
@ I sprayed the coat here: 2:35 The water doesn’t get absorbed at all, even if I touch it afterwards. With the lining underneath, you would likely not get wet unless you’re standing under heavy rain without an umbrella. The texture looks like twill/ gabardine, so these don’t let the water go in easily. As for washing and the chemistry part, I wish I could answer that, but this is beyond my expertise ♥️☺️
