I actually told my father that I predicted Greece as the eventual winners of the whole thing after watching the first game. I will never predict anything in football with certainty ever again. That shit was fluky enough for a lifetime.

There will never be an underdog story better than Euro 2004! Those who criticised Greece's tactics know nothing of football and were nothing short of salty that a team with no superstars pulled down the underpants of some of Europe's greatest players and left them red faced to put it politely.. i remember my dad coaching me on why corners were such a powerful tool if you used it correctly and Greece scoring so many corners cemented that fact.

Greece's 11 were formitaable, aall of them had already had or were about to have an inrerntional career at well known european clubs. They scored in every match and did not play defence only.
i prefer Euro 2004 than this we have today, Euro 2024 was so boring, France almost to go to semifanls without goal and England plays so messed game

Just because Rehhagel had proper tactics while Big Phil was subbing off Gomes for Pauleta instead of adding him on the front while they were failing to build up, when in the first match the teenage star Cristiano was fooled Seitaridis on the flank, also when the talented and seasoned France couldn’t figure out the Greek defence for the first half. Going on and on with the same bullshit that salty British papers wrote to feed their disappointed fans 20 years after, at least have the decency to acknowledge that Greece won the Euro on the pitch fair and square by playing football, not parking a bus and it’s Charisteas not Christmas
Greece had a decent team then. Greece beat Spain in the qualification round and also finished first, ahead of Spain and Ukraine.
