*_Literally one of my overall favorite matches of One Piece, top 1._*
*_This was such a badass fight, so jaw dropping. I actually felt like Luffy could have lost this fight, that's how intense their match was. Very equal to one another._*
It actually remains as my favorite fight even after all the fights we have experienced after the Ennies Lobby arc!
For me this fight and vs katakuri on one of my list of favorite fights in one piece. Even though i read it in manga it feels different when it animated along with music

@user-rd9tf3ve3oehhh... I'm not sure about that, tho i guess the two of them should be pretty close in terms of power.
But i think lucci win this, considering he has better durability. he took a few hit from luffy in gear 5, albeit not serious, and if we compare this to luffy's initial fight with kaido who wasn't even in his hybrid form, it's safe to say that lucci is much more durable than that. Overall, lucci is probably stronger physically, but katakuri does have greater ability , so it depends on which is the superior factor.

Come to think of it, yes, this song is so tense and gives you goosebumps during Luffy and Lucci's fight, but imagine for a moment how f*cking epic, tense and chilling it would be during the hypothetical final battle between Luffy and Kurohige or Imu 🥶

Luffy put everything on the line even his own body. When met with the speech of making his friends worried and going back to a nicer , more safe place together given by Usopp , luffy feels like he needs to take his friends to a safer place and protect them and ofc rescue Robin. He needs to make them feel that they can rely on him and if they worry about him , they wouldn't be able to do so. He gets up and says he won't fall again so that his friends can rely on him and fights with the natural instinct of protecting others and also the emotions of anger towards CP9 for you know what and also grief of what they put Robin thru. Gr8 fukin fight

The thing that was awesome about this fight is that it was an endurance match. Luffy and lucci just slugging it out till one dropped.

I haven't been able to find another fight between Protagonist and Villain this intense, I was rooting for Luffy and felt he could lose.
I am here because I JUST watched episode three hundred whatever and this song came on when he screamed "Jet Gatling!" and I woke everybody up.
In my opinion this was the best fight before time skip because it's the first time Luffy uses second and third gear
Vs. Blueno is the first time 2nd gear is used. 3rd gear used to break that door underground

Enies lobby and sabaody ambush by kizaru and kuma has some wild and edge of the seat tracks.
What I always will love about part one is how unpowered Luffy is compared to all his opponents, but the very fact that his will is so strong-it leads him to win! He doesn’t even know about his haki yet, all he knows is that he can’t give up or he’ll grow weaker and lose. Which is why when he lost Ace, I believe he lost his will to fight and his strength. So recovering from that must’ve been difficult.

I felt the weight of Luffy's punches here, especially at the end of the fight. Fighting against the opposite ideal is...a really hard thing. Maybe thats why I felt the weight.
As of where I am in One Piece (episode 972), this is still my favorite fight in the series. Bar none. The sheer intensity, speed and tension this battle had is unmatched, and the ending is legit one of my favorite endings to a fight... EVER.
I still get chills watching Luffy PUMMEL Lucci out of Enies Lobby, and then hearing him scream out to Robin while lying down on the floor.

I might even say rob lucci was maybe a bit *stronger* than Luffy in this fight. But Luffy is just so damn determined and stubborn his willpower got him through anyways. Just one of those fights in One Piece where you really get to see Luffy’s determination.
Everytime i hear this theme playing in OP i will get a smirk because i know that it will be groundbreaking.

Luffy wasn't going to give up that easy. He fought till the very end, even though his wounds were very severe. He unleashed pure hell upon Lucci, and beat him, unknowingly starting immense beef between the two. Then luffy clapped him a second time during egghead for sure. We can all agree Lucci got what he deserved.

God I can't tell which fights the greatist their all so fucking great. Luffy vs luci my nostalgia fight (When I got into op) luffy vs crocodile the original bad ass bad guy with the first great finisher. Or luffy vs katicuri the greatist theme and an awesome guy. God their all so good and I hope this gets harder with more great fights in the future.
