I just received your book New Botanical Painting, and I had to tell you how beautiful it is. I look forward to painting along with each illustration in your book. I can hardly wait to paint the ranunculus right along with you, and if I get stuck, I have your book to refer to. Thank you so very much for the book and all your tutorials.
I went to the Merriam-Webster dictionary and they say either!! So you’re correct either way! I just love your presentations, your teaching and your paintings!;win-win-win!!!
I have it on good authority from a gardener friend that the plural of Ranunculus is Ranunculi. Happy watercolouring and always learning something new in more ways than one.
Lovely! Might be interesting to know, that opera rose and moonglow are both fugitive colours. So it’s not a good idea to use these colours, if one plans to frame and hang the painting. I am a bit confused that you call a number 4 brush a large brush.
@@deWintonPaperCo Thank you! I assumed as much but wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing some widely used practice. 😊 I absolutely love painting with you. So relaxing.
Coat the bristles in any type of soap then wash the brush immediately after you’ve finished. Keep that brush separate for use with masking fluid only. Works a treat 😊
Finally, someone that includes the sketch. Thank you. Love it.
Glad you like it!
Oh my gosh, last time you taught me how to do a vase and now this time you’re teaching me how to do an absolutely beautiful vase. This is awesome.
You are so welcome :D

We were given a cut crystal vase for our wedding by a great aunt… you’ve shown me how I could use this technique to paint a bunch of flowers in it.
That's a great idea!

Thanks for the info!
Hi Harriet oops like you’re correct no matter which you use 😅
plural ranunculus ; or ranunculuses ; or ranunculi ...
Good to know!
The plural of ranunculus can be formed by adding an -es to the word or by using ranunculi. I think the suffix -es sounds clumsy.
Help. 😕 How do you get masking fluid off your brushes? I’m using an old brush but I can’t get the fluid off of it. Throw the brush away?
I have found I allocate old brushes to be masking fluid applicators as it's hard to protect them
They say to dip the brush in liquid soap first. Good luck, my one and only experience with masking fluid was a disaster. I try to avoid it, lol 😊.

Either is grammatically correct: ranunculuses or rannuculi. It is Latin or little frogs.
