Well biz you inspired me enough to get the game, been playing it a lot and I'm having trouble understanding the gearbox any chance you could explain it in a video?
A lot of vids on yt explianing it. Its actually pretty ez. You set it on X:Y wich means if the input rpm is A, the ouput will be Y*A/X. Basically you can costumize the torque/rpm rating. If your truck drives very fast but cant' pull anything you put a gearbox of 2:1 for example. (2 rotations input = 1 rotation output) So basically the wheels rotate at half times the speed but have double the power.

Perhaps changing the rear prop into ducked fan would help, I'm pretty sure it does not generate any rotation torque
