I have seen the review of this paddle with different reviewers and found it to be a tremendous innovation and the future of paddles. I would love to see them develop other shapes to give consumers more options.
Love the idea and hope to see it possibly licensed out beyond just their own shapes. Would be great if there were other companies doing similar things!
Hoping Reload and Proton (Series 1) usher in the golden age of paddle sustainability and actually being able to use/learn/adapt to your equipment over several months instead of being essentially disposable
That's where the patents come in. Our first one is already granted - but there are a number of others. There are more and more ambassadors and places to try...
Love the idea and the fact that they’re willing to stand behind the paddle itself with a warranty. Paddles already cost a lot and brands like these minimize the damage to my wallet 😂
I’m so glad companies are working on cheaper solutions rather than having to buy a new paddle! I come from a table tennis background, and you just switch your rubber out!
It is a great idea not having to toss away a few paddles every year. How's the dwell time on them? I think i like paddles with more dwell time but i would really like to try out Reload.
one of the reasons why you can shape the ball so well with Reload is precisely because the dwell time is ever so slightly longer as the ball sinks into the face a teeny bit more than a regular stiff faced paddle. Go try it out ;)
@Reloadpickleball that's good to know. I also like my paddles elongated with higher swing weight so the paddle stats fit what I am looking for. It's definitely on my list for my next paddle. Thanks Reload!
If this takes off I will be surprised if other big brands don't jump on this tech. On the other side of the coin though this would drop their paddle sales and they may not want that. If they could sell you a new paddle every six months why would they want you to buy inexpensive sheets instead.
I'm not jumping on this bandwagon. You can get the best paddles on the market for around $130 now. Two of those a year is all you need. Great spin is produced through solid swing mechanics. Plus this paddle hamstrings you to the same internal tech. I'm sure they'll come out with upgraded paddles but now you're buying another paddle...
That is true, however if you’re someone who is playing every day you’ll likely see your grit wear out within 2 months. This solves that issue for anyone who prefers this shape and weighting
Depends on how often you play but the answer is the same as any other Raw Carbon Fiber pickleball paddle...it's made of the same materials - T700 undirectonal carbon fiber with a peel-ply embossed texture. A good rule of thumb is after every 30 days of play you lose 50% of your paddles grit. (and we mean ANY paddle). Except for Selkirk paddles. (the ones with the throat hole) - those last maybe 7 days if you're lucky ;)
Great concept! Not sure it's something I'd want to main though. Too high of a SW, and too low TW for my preference. Also, the spin is "close to top tier when new". How durable is the replaceable grit compared to a top tier epoxy peel ply paddle? If after 3months the top tier is still at 2000+ RPM and the Reload requires monthly replacement to stay at 1900-2000 RPM then I'd definitely go with a top tier PP paddle and replace it every 6months.
Sure but two issues: 1. It would not be approved for sanction play. 2. And more importantly your swing weight and balance point would jump up drastically and be a very head heavy paddle
I play with a proton series one because the NanoTac coating never wears down as it is the same coating on their softball bats and basically will last forever hitting a pickleball. All companies should prioritize lasting grit but will not, bc they sell a lot more paddles when your grit wears down after less than 48 hours days of combined play. 🤦♂️
Should’ve been having this kind of “technology” from the start. Makes no sense that paddles are as expensive as tennis racquets but have a fraction of the shelf life due to surface durability. Imagine if you couldn’t restring a racquet how expensive that could get.
Good for Reload … go change the paddle game … and by game I mean constantly replacing $250 paddles. 🤨 Speaking of game changers … I am now playing at an entirely new level. I’ve switched to the short shorts, and it has totally freed up my game. Yes … all the yoga pants women approaching me is a bit distracting, but worth it.
@@PickleballPursuit You were right … what were the odds? 🤔 Leads to a follow up question … if short is better, what is too short? Probably when no one will play with you. I mention the short shorts channel elsewhere … driving up your female numbers. Don’t let your better half read this, and I’m not talking about Justin. Carry on … may the Pursuit be with you. No idea what that means.
This is absolutely a game changer & the future of Pickleball Paddles! Thank you Reload for this innovation 🥳💕
I have seen the review of this paddle with different reviewers and found it to be a tremendous innovation and the future of paddles. I would love to see them develop other shapes to give consumers more options.
Love the new tech, can’t wait to see if they are able to make sheets for alternate companies or different materials (Kevlar/titanium/etc.)
Love the idea and hope to see it possibly licensed out beyond just their own shapes. Would be great if there were other companies doing similar things!
watch this space...let's just say there's a lot of interest by names you might have heard of ;)
Great idea, pretty big swing weight, definitely interested in trying it out!
Sick. Hopefully more companies look into technology like this. Excited to see reload try other paddle sizes.
Hoping Reload and Proton (Series 1) usher in the golden age of paddle sustainability and actually being able to use/learn/adapt to your equipment over several months instead of being essentially disposable
Cool! Now I can change surfaces mid match shouting,”…you want to play rough?! ohkheyy! …I’m reloaded!”
I'm excited to try this paddle.
Other paddle companies will catch up on this. But atleast they become the pioneer of this kind of technology. Would be fun to try.
That's where the patents come in. Our first one is already granted - but there are a number of others. There are more and more ambassadors and places to try...
Have been waiting a long time to try this paddle 🤞🏻🤞🏻
would love a hybrid shaped Reload! this is such a brilliant innovation in the right direction for pickleball paddles!
Love the idea and the fact that they’re willing to stand behind the paddle itself with a warranty. Paddles already cost a lot and brands like these minimize the damage to my wallet 😂
I'm not quite in because I don't think the paddle is quite there yet, but if they can dial it in this is the future! Excited for the innovation.
Have you had a chance to try it?
@@Reloadpickleball Not yet! Haven't seen one up here by me in Vancouver, WA
@@Olorin323 I checked the list and we don't have any ambassadors or retailers up there just yet...but I'm sure it will come.
This is the future of pickleball, great review!
Another great content and review Lewis, those b-rolls are 🔥🔥🔥🔥, sweet paddle
Thanks dude!
Most impactful release of the year
This may be my next purchase… great concept to keep me locked into one paddle vs changing every 3/4 months.
Would buy one if they had a wide body. The value is really nice
OM Aero1 Reload should help you there.
Love this new tech. Excited to try it out myself.
I’m so glad companies are working on cheaper solutions rather than having to buy a new paddle! I come from a table tennis background, and you just switch your rubber out!
Awesome review! I love the innovation from Reload. I would like them to make a wide body paddle next.
Ive had to keep one paddle for practice and a separate one for tournament's. This could change so much for me.
that's exactly how we started...
and exactly WHY we started. When you lose 50% of your paddle's grit after 30 days of play - we knew there had to be a better way
Replaceable sheets is the new wave

🎉 pro-consumer model. +$250 paddles that degrade after mere hours of high level play is ridiculous.
The fun is in trying out new paddles
I would like to try this paddle

Love Reload! 🩶
Would love to try this paddle!
Smart move. Hope others adopt this idea.
This is a game changer👍
It's nice to try a new paddle.
Thank you for the review!
this is such an awesome idea, however i just can’t picture myself ever buying one. definitely great for the market though

I got to hit with this paddle via one of their ambassadors. I wish I had purchased when they had the introductory pricing.
Great idea and review
Great option.
How long will a sheet last?

Why aren’t all paddles like this
That's what we're thinking
@@Reloadpickleball will you guys new releasing a paddle on the lighter side?
interesting concept!

Looking forward to different body shapes and faces heels. I wonder if they'll partner with other brands
It's coming ;)
How does this compare to a regular T700 raw carbon fiber surface?
It feels identical. The face sheets are made of carbon fiber and the same materials as traditional faces
Interested in a hybrid shape!
just take our money!
In theory, you could add that to your existing paddle, right
Sure but two issues:
1. It would not be approved for sanction play.
2. And more importantly your swing weight and balance point would jump up drastically and be a very head heavy paddle
Bit heavy but I'd love to demo it
Is this the cure for paddle buying addiction?
No. This means you'll just start buying sheets and changing those every other game ;)
