So before doing anything I always try to watch your videos and then take any action . So a big thank you 🙏 for that !!! You’re helping so many viewers like me . I had a question .. is alum fitkari harmful for fish ? The problem is hard water and chlorine ! Where I live the water is very hard and full of chlorine it’s not always possible to treat it before adding to the fish tank for regular water changes . I saw somewhere where they add a bit of alum fitkari and the water becomes crystal clear . Now it may be ok for human consumption but is it ok if I use the same water for my fish as well ? I have two small goldfish which I love very much and would love to provide them with clean water !! Kindly help !!
@@amgidda1000 No, please don't try to use Alum into the aquarium.Although some cities use small amounts to make water clear and treat turbidity. However it's lethal to fish. PH also plays a role here. Some questions you may need to answer -1: Do you have a test kit to test amonia, nitrates ans nitrites in the tank and did you test them. 2 : is your tank cycled (completed the Nitrogen cycle)? 3: Do you use a conditioner? 4: Do you try water softener or API GH KH test kit which is accurate and will measure thr GH KH in the tank. The dissolved solids in water will be identified and create a more stable environment. However Mayur Sir will have a better solution upon your answers recived.

Let me try to answer your questions one by one . 1- I do have a test kit but it doesn’t test ammonia it checks nitrates and nitrites , PH and KH levels . The think is I don’t understand the results also when there is something wrong I don’t know what to do . As has been in the past after water changes my fish has behaved stressed moving frantically . You’ll know it’s not normal calm behaviour . In such times I don’t know what to do . So now I only do 50 percent water change , I don’t remove them from the tank and I don’t clean the decorations as they have good bacteria on them ! I just leave them in it and only clean the gravel and do 50 to 60 percent water change each time and of course lean the filter and bio media . I add water conditioner or tap safe and aquarium salt only 1 Tspn after dissolving it first . My tank is vertically large about 145 litres . I do want to add more fish maybe 2/3 max at this time . I am looking to upgrade in the future to more horizontal tank but it dies t look like happening in the next six months ..I haven’t got too many test strips the thing is I don’t understand which ones to buy as there are so many products in the market .. I also can’t read the test strips accurately and worse still wouldn’t know what to do even if things go wrong ! Also I noticed recently one of my fish the bigger one has developed a small bump around the back belly tail area . So I will be treating them in a hospital tank according to your videos . They both have small white patches on them which they came with . They have become less with salt treatment but I want to get them better now . Is there any phone number ( Whatsaop group you could add me to ) in case of emergency advice ? I’ll really appreciate it ? Thanks once again for your help and advice .
@@amgidda1000 bhai, I'm convinced that it's the water. Either the ph, kh, tds, nh2 nh3 are not stable. What I would do is check the parameters from fresh water from your tap and then store it for 2 days and see the test. I understand u don't feel confident with the reading, try watching videos of the product u took on RUclips. Don't use salt all the time, I know people will swear on it but it's like a med, if you add it all thr time thr fish and the bacteria are ammune to the dosage and you'll have to increase it when ur fish is not well.. did you try RO water ? Can you drink water straight from the tap? Can you also check with people who keep fish 5 kms within your house for whats their parameters and water condition. I am a hobbiest will try to find out some answers for you however will need your inputs.. also Mayur Sir will be able to provide u an answer. Please try calling his API number from the description and talk to his team members , thats the fastest way to get the answer. Cheers hope u get a solution and be with the hobby.
I had 3 goldfishes 2 carps in my 80 gallon tank. Used to feed them twice a day for 1st 2 years and slowly made it once a day. Didn't had any bio media filter. Only normal filter motor where water flows through a cotton/nylon filter n falls back into tank (that too 3 to 4 hours a day only). Once in 3 months water change. My fishes lived for more than 5 years and still were doing great. I had give them since was shifting to my hometown.

Dear Mr. Dev, I Request for your advise on my mentioned issue that I am currently facing with my Aquarium - I have 370 Gallons aquarium (8 X2.5 X 3 FEET) Its a 10 years matured aquarium with sand bottom and lots of driftwoods and stones. Filtration - 2 huge canister filters (Housing API Bio media, ceramic rings, lava rocks and different sponges and filter floss as well) and 2 top sumps (housing lava rocks and ceramic rings, pothos plant also growing in top filters). I have all monster fishes like Oscar, Silver Arowana, Parrots, Severums, Bichir, vieja synspilum, Silver Dollars. All are huge fishes, no fish is smaller than 8 inches Total - 15 fishes. I performed a water change 1 month back and since then my aquarium water is remaining cloudy. I performed another water change that reduced the cloudiness a bit but still cloudy.. My filters are not clogged up, routinely cleaned but not able to get rid of this cloudiness... All fishes are healthy and happy its just the water cloudiness. Very fine particles are seen suspended in the water and don't know why filter are not able to clear it up since last 1 month... Kindly Suggest...
Remove the Lava Rocks and ceramic rings from the filter and use only Bio Media, As your bio load is high, i have a feeling they are completely clogged and so the bacteria is not enough, also What are you feeding them??

I bought API bio media and used water care 4 + on my bare bottom tank, only issue I faced is after 7 days cycling when I tried to clean the tank of debris deposited at the bottom, it got stuck and I had to scrub it to clean, and water once again got cloudy, because of sticking at the bottom.

Hello Dev .. I'm from bihar... And at my home .. only way to get water is underground water .. when i put that water in a container... That water turns yellow and some yellow sediment gets deposited below... Now if i leave that water for a few hours ... I'll have all the yellow powder deposited at the bottom and the water is almost clear ..... What i don't know is .. can i use that clear water in an aquarium... ??For your help... When water comes out of pump .. water is crystal clear... It becomes yellow after few hours... .. please help me here... ( That yellow powder could be related to Iron Fe )

Question: asking seperate questions because some questions are missed to be answered, lol.. however, is there a test kit to test bacteria in the tank? Reason I ask is, I have added bacter100( past ) api bacteria ( recently ) , seachem Stability ( backup) and do check my nh2 nh3 which is nill via api test kit. With bouble n trouble bacteria also launched how do we test if it works and don't waste money if it doesn't.

Sir please answer my question. Yesterday i purchased your api biomedia and its best👌. After pouring bacteria in my tank my aquarium water turn it into totally black. But after 12 hour it turn into cristal clear water. Excellent Bio-media its works perfectly. But my question is does i change my 20% water? Or i have to wait it for few days? My second question is does i wash my top filter sponge? Or i wait for few days? Beacuse all charcoal stuck in my filter sponge.

Dear Mr. Dev, I Request for your advise on my mentioned issue that I am currently facing with my Aquarium - I have 370 Gallons aquarium (8 X2.5 X 3 FEET) Its a 10 years matured aquarium with sand bottom and lots of driftwoods and stones. Filtration - 2 huge canister filters (Housing API Bio media, ceramic rings, lava rocks and different sponges and filter floss as well) and 2 top sumps (housing lava rocks and ceramic rings, pothos plant also growing in top filters). I have all monster fishes like Oscar, Silver Arowana, Parrots, Severums, Bichir, vieja synspilum, Silver Dollars. All are huge fishes, no fish is smaller than 8 inches Total - 15 fishes. I performed a water change 1 month back and since then my aquarium water is remaining cloudy. I performed another water change that reduced the cloudiness a bit but still cloudy.. My filters are not clogged up, routinely cleaned but not able to get rid of this cloudiness... All fishes are healthy and happy its just the water cloudiness. Very fine particles are seen suspended in the water and don't know why filter are not able to clear it up since last 1 month... Kindly Suggest...
Remove the Lava Rocks and ceramic rings from the filter and use only Bio Media, As your bio load is high, i have a feeling they are completely clogged and so the bacteria is not enough, also What are you feeding them??

Will surely remove the ceramic rings and lava rocks as suggested and will observe the difference...Will surely keep you posted on the results post removing Lava rocks and Ceramic rings...Also, I feed them FD Shrimps and FD tubiflex worms and different sorts of Hikari Pellets only. (No live feed ever)
@@MayurDevAquascaper Also please suggest how long does lava rocks last as a filter media please? I know about ceramic rings but didn't find much info about lava rocks life expectancy .

@@bhupeshkhanna4952 Avoid FD shrimps feeding rest all are okay. You can use lava rocks for lifetime. But you can replace after 2-3yrs for better result.

If we r using a bio material, do we need to put ammonia remover And stress heal at water change . somebody was saying if you use this, it will take the collected ammonia out from the bio material, and the fish will be harm with ammonia burn

For a week 10% water change is suggested and the filter should be on continuously

I bought API bio media and used water care 4 + on my bare bottom tank, only issue I faced is after 7 days cycling when I tried to clean the tank of debris deposited at the bottom, it got stuck and I had to scrub it to clean, and water once again got cloudy, because of sticking at the bottom.
This means your filter is not upto the mark, Check the FilterFlow rate

Hello Dev .. I'm from bihar... And at my home .. only way to get water is underground water .. when i put that water in a container... That water turns yellow and some yellow sediment gets deposited below... Now if i leave that water for a few hours ... I'll have all the yellow powder deposited at the bottom and the water is almost clear ..... What i don't know is .. can i use that clear water in an aquarium... ??For your help... When water comes out of pump .. water is crystal clear... It becomes yellow after few hours... .. please help me here... ( That yellow powder could be related to Iron Fe )

Question: asking seperate questions because some questions are missed to be answered, lol.. however, is there a test kit to test bacteria in the tank? Reason I ask is, I have added bacter100( past ) api bacteria ( recently ) , seachem Stability ( backup) and do check my nh2 nh3 which is nill via api test kit. With bouble n trouble bacteria also launched how do we test if it works and don't waste money if it doesn't.

Yesterday i purchased your api biomedia and its best👌. After pouring bacteria in my tank my aquarium water turn it into totally black. But after 12 hour it turn into cristal clear water. Excellent Bio-media its works perfectly. But my question is does i change my 20% water? Or i have to wait it for few days?
My second question is does i wash my top filter sponge? Or i wait for few days?
Beacuse all charcoal stuck in my filter sponge.
