She carries that quality through her roles, she is a really fine actress and very versatile. The first movie I seen her in was The Dreamers when I was 11 years of age, weird, creepy sexy role but se was amazing. Kingdom of Heaven with Orlando Bloom...crap movie but she saved it in my opinion. The ONLY Bond girl to show any more than one dimension or even display talent in Casino Royale

She trained in London. She did however train really hard to refine her English and learn the British accent for Casino Royale.

Her Greek father was a satrap in the service of the Persian king and she followd his steps by becominig....a queen- the queen of Caria in Asia Minor! She was actually a tragic woman, a victim of both her upbringing and of the political turmoil by dissident Greeks! An awesome character in the movie, I admit!
Everything is a bit different in this movie, even history! That was for me, personally a disappointment that one of my favorite actresses was playing among in a movie that was so facially political and a false show of history.
