We would like to introduce the islanders who supported the emergency support behind the scenes while recollecting what happened immediately after the typhon.
After the thyphon, we are very grateful to have received donations from people in Japan and Taiwan. However, there were various difficulties in emergency assistance.
-About Caohagan Island
Caohagan Island in Cebu, Philippines, is a small island of 50,000 square meters with 700 islanders.
In Caohagan Island, which is surrounded by rich marine nature, people receive the blessings from the beautiful nature, share them with others, and live like a family.
Instead of pursuing material and financial wealth, by relying on natural time they live a life full of the happiness they already have.
About 30 years ago, Sakiyama Katsuhiko, a Japanese man who was so obsessed by Caohagan Island, bought the land and started living with the islanders.
Since then, he sympathizes with the way the islanders live and has worked hard so far to protect the nature and culture of the island.

英語もほぼ話せないし、ましてやビサヤ語は挨拶適度の私は、島を訪れても 話す事が出来ずにいました。日本語を話せる島民としか話せないもどかしさを感じていました。
こうして、想いを語ってくれた事や動画にしてくれた事、日本語にしてくれた事で、人となりを理解出来ました。
