Used to fish the old town for bass a few years back but decided to start fishing Dungeness again the last 2 years, this year the bass have been between 50-60cm but need to watch out for dogfish around there. Glad that 1 catch changed your mentality.

High Matt, down in Torquay for a week, haven't used the car all week, went to get my gear for a day spinning/plugging for Bass or anything else holy s**t my gears been stolen, rod large holdall 2 reels 2 large boxes absolutely stuffed with lures plastics and everything else that was in it 😳 absolutely devastated and deeply peeed off.
Made a start Torquay Harbour tackle shop, Savage gear sg2 7 / 35grm. £90 but small mark in finish so £80.
    Onwards and upwards.
    Cheers mate Les.

@@SaltwaterAngler cheers Matt, poped it on Facebook, hopefully the little shit gets what he deserves.
There was some good cctv footage and he's got a very distinct limp too, police informed they will be checking the footage 😉 and there's a good chance he's known to them.
Fingers crossed but not holding out to much hope 🙏
Also went to the cash converters & another similar shop ( they all know each other) so if he goes in there they will just take it off him.
Started with new rod to kick things off, bingo win, thank god.
Sorry to burden you 😔 mate but gutted.
Do you still favour the sedona reel ?? for spinning or have you found something a bit better ??
The Daiwa was only £20 on amazon didn't get a chance to use it, what's your honest opinion 🤔 opinion.
      Cheers for now 👍 Les

Nice one Matt. I have had some great sessions at that mark i met you at on the lures. Had a 5lber just before high water right as you climb down. Then i had a 6lber right out on the reefs at low water. We have had countless bass smaller though. Its really been producing well the last few weeks, even with all the seals around.

Matt, can I ask your advice, I have fished for years but not much sea fishing , I have just bought an Abu Garcia X Svartzonker 7’ 11” spinning rod rated 30~100g , could you recommend a few reels and lines to match it for a bass fishing ? . Ps I do have a much lighter 10 -30g 7’ rod , same question

Think it's because they're not breeding size till 46cm so good practice to only take them once big enough to have spread dna.
