@Lance-wn9dc I get the rebranding aspect but the whole thing felt ridiculous, they were trying to build up and push lost causes like Von Wagner and Quincy Elliott. The problem was the execution, everything felt like a joke and it constantly needed to be carried by previous B&G NXT wrestlers or people from the main roster. Nothing wrong with that it’s just that NXT needed to stand on its own again and they did after going to G&W NXT which was significantly better. I agree that a rebrand was needed but NXT 2.0 was just buns with a few hits but mostly misses.

I do feel bad for Von Wagner bc I’ve never seen a wrestler regress so far down, he went from feuding with Bron Breakker, to being a nameless security guard in AEW, like how do you revert back to Security number 1, after main eventing NXT shows, that’s never happened
Around this time last year he had a tag match on ROH losing to Gates of Agony and they gave him a lot and hyped him on commentary, but he has not wrestled much since then, I imagine he got discouraged or demotivated

Apparently Tyler Reks had heat with John Cena because his finisher (the Burning Hammer) looked similar to the Attitude Adjustment even though Cena’s was just a spoofed version of the Death Valley Driver 😂
That is the story I remembered as well.
The burning hammer was one of Kent Kobashi’s finisher in All Japan, one he only performed seven times. And yes it does look like an AA.

My start as a wwe fan began in 1993 and one of my favorites was Crush. That was the guy I wanted to see being at the top, besides Bret Hart, Razor and Undertaker. Clearly the 3 latter names got their big success and are all hall of famers now. Sadly Brian "Crush" Adams never went near the main event status, though he had a great look and skills to be one. Also his heel turn as Mr. Fuji's next stable member killed off his popularity with me, because I was still young and believed everything wrestlers did on shows lol.

Von Wagner had potential, but was missing a few pieces. By the time a couple of those were starting to be addressed, he was released. Number one, his move set was bland. Just generic with no memorable spot for fans to clamor for. Something like an Alabama slam on the outside, or a pounce that knocks the opponent out of the ring. Two his character/gimmick or lack thereof. They started to rectify this towards the end, telling the story of his struggles as a child (assuming the story's legit). This could have worked for a tag team act with Robert Stone as it made him really sympathetic. It's a classic pairing, the physically imposing but softspoken muscle, and the smaller loudmouth.
The third and most significant issue is a lack of proper build up and memorable feuds. Burst onto the scene with nobody having a clue who he was or why they should care. And besides his Bron Breakker feud, can anyone remember another, if so please tell me. This all was a massive fumble, but then again, so was most or NXT 2.0 if we're being honest. I can't say much for Kavita Davhi or Tyler Reks except, wow WWE really loves to fumble potential stars.

I heard that WWE wanted to dress Kavita devi into modern wrestling outfits which Kavita devi simply refused to wear. She grew in a society where women are taught to wear traditional clothes which cover the body. Wearing modern wrestling clothes was simply unacceptable to her.
