The FIRST mistake in the voice-over scenario was not telling the cat until they were literally on the table, then repeating "it's not a big deal, just a small procedure" while physically pinning the cat up and replying that way to the cat just wanting to know what was happening to it. In this scenario, it's WAY TOO EASY to explain the situation to the cat, and how he won't be able to control his urges, make kittens that will mostly all die, and go through physical pains himself if he keeps the organs, and how it's not like a "cutting the emotions out of the brain" and more like an "this is completely unnecessary self-inflicted suffering and also bringing suffering to new life" consequences. If the cat didn't consent to THAT even, then holding it down afterwards would be even MORE cruel. We have horror movies about this! Cats irl cannot communicate, and the only thing at ALL that video did right was not masking the humans, since cats identify humans through faces and that would be like literal aliens with zero friendly features doing that to a human. Like you can't even imagine. Makes me think of if cats can have childhood trauma...
