People dont understand how sick Wayne is. His simile and metaphor game is so serious..The make precise sense and are put in such a creative way, you have to stop and think about it. You end up actually being able to visualize it. The rhyme schemes/patterns along with the unorthodox flow and it all builds up and correlates all in unison with the beat. This shit is truly masterful. Watching/listening this man start as a little kid and evolve into the lyrical and musical genius/monster he is to day,(coming from the gutter where black folks dont get the best education or make it to become stars/moguls/icons but instead statistics)..is rather remarkable #recognizelivinglegends

Wayne was in a very good state of mind and good space when he was recording the carter 3
meetcarter you are not lying
That’s his magnum opus
Shit sad we can’t get these days Back, I could cry right now just thinking about it G 🤦🏾♂️
Those were the days brotha
That's why the muzik here young blood
On my
Soul bro
Y'all member the style long tees backwards caps ,. Those were the days mayne
Got to love and hate nostalgia at the same damn time.
Agreed 1000 percent
thank you man ; i 'm so happy reading this comment
@@cheikhtidianecisse5064 Yo that’s what’s up, I appreciate that.
I agree his wordplay is insane and hes one of the only rappers that have funny/gangsta/clever punchlines.. And his flow around this time was crazy
@@cube5884 indeed sir
Man I cry 😢 the Wayne era was so golden man this new generation will never understand 🤦🏾♂️ I remember after school I go to the mixtape store around my way an get a new Wayne mix cd everyday lol of course bootleg but couldn’t tell me nothing bout Wayne especially limewire damaging my sister computer haha 😂
This song would've been Wayne's "Hard Knock Life" moment had it not leaked and retconned the original Carter III. Those leaks single-handedly changed Wayne's entire career. Makes this song that much more emotional and a rare gem.
Lol hard knock life by jay z was terrible. Really says something that thats what u compare to
eam0090 his point is that Hard knock life was Jay’s first big commercial mega hit
@@Jsalcedo23 Wayne already had commercial hits before 2008
@@GeneFOX70 lollipop was his COMING OUT party to the MAINSTREAM(pop culture, white people) white folks was not blasting the block is hot, Go DJ, fireman, hustler music, leather so soft, stunting like daddy out there speakers. but lollipop was and so was mrs officer and also how to love. Grammy awards are a small gift but a big curse. no rapper in the history was better than hood weezy.
@@khaliyl21 Wayne was already mainstream and known worldwide before Carter 3. Tha Hot Boyz were huge in the late 90s/early 2000s, his debut album Tha Block Is Hot was a success and went platinum in less than a month, Lights Out and 500 Degreez went gold. Tha Carter made Wayne massively popular and saved Cash Money, his feature on Destiny's Child Solider made him more popular, dropped successful mixtapes like Tha Drought 1, 2, and Squad Up series. Tha Carter 2 was a success, then he was on number 1 features with with Chris Brown, Lloyd, DJ Khaled, did Like Father Like Son which was a success and peaked at number 3, dropped the successful Drought 3. After that a bunch of Carter 3's leaked, more top 10 features then came Tha Carter 3 which made Wayne even more mainstream.
He's been killing that "in the building" line for YEARS
Lil wayne will always be one of the greatest. I lived down South during Peak wayne. So many great car rides with friends at that time who also knew all the words to every song 🤣
cherish those days.
Was playing this one yr outta high school. 35 now. Still the ish. Still my favorite rapper on baby!!💪🏽💪🏽
End of 2021 and still one of my favorite songs of Lil Wayne ever 🎶
December 2020!!!!
Yeeee listened to this my first time in 08 and I ain’t never stopped. I’ll still listen to it in 2040 if God let’s me make it to then. Forever da 🐐 💯 💜

The 28th
Gat in my draws, money in my pocket, crack in my jaws and I hope it dont dissolve and you know I’m ducking 5-0 and my moms
Mixtape Wayne was the best Wayne 🐐
That part 💯
If this isn’t played during the Super Bowl they fumbled it MAJORLY
So many classic cuts weren't on the album, this is much better than that other shitty "La La La" version that was on Tha Carter 3.
Naah that shit dope
Lmao i was fooled by the track listing back in 08. I was expecting this joint
I like both
I’m telling y’all now. I AM LISTENING TO THIS IN 2020

One of the best unreleased tracks of all time
No doubt
I’m 35 and I still know all the lyrics like when I was in high school. Wayne is and will always be a God Tier rapper.
Listening to this wayne back in the day always made me feel like I could overcome anything. The Weezy haters will never understand that feeling.
Born in New Orleans, raised in New Orleans, I will be forever faithful New Orleans!

“Can I kick my story to y’all my glory in God my faith in my flow I pray that I go where no other rapper has but when you’re rappin as vivid as I ya limit is the sky” word play
From rap to trap wayne has been here in the game for so long 🙏
If a musician has a 1/4 of the career that Wayne had/has they are very blessed! This man has like 40 GIGS worth of music recorded. 5 or 6 years ago I downloaded his discography... 30 gigs... that was then. So many amazing songs/mixtapes/albums. Lil Wayne is one of the best and should be in every ones top 10. If you say he says the same shit over and over, it might because he has probably rapped about everything there is to rap about LOL.
RonDonThePeoplesChamp is He is definitely not the best rapper even alive but he always has been and always will be my favorite rapler
@Chris Johnson you put in words perfectly how I feel about him
@Chris Johnson Thats bs Wayne's greatest songs are found on his mixtapes/underground music and most of it was great! Now if you're speaking of his mainstream stream songs, then that's another story...
Salute 🫡 a true wayniac
La la la ...man this song is classic. Untouchable no one dared to touch this beat other than Wayne
This brought me down memory lane. One of the best songs ever. And the melody oh Man dont even get me started🔥
this is just too good to embrace. the feeling. the music. the content. the spirit. the time in my life this takes me back too. epitome of bittersweet
Who here in 2024?
Me dog
Been here since middle school
Facts we never left never will

I was 13 years old when this came out. First song I ever cried to. Lil Wayne will forever be the goat
I remember bumping this senior year 16 years ago. Still hits the same. Weezy a G and legend
2023, and this track still moves my spirit the way it did when I was a little bull headed 16yr-old driving around my neighborhood feeling like the King of the world. 😂 Long Live Lil' Weezyana! 🐐💫
One of my favorite Wayne songs man. Smh bring back a lot of teenage memories.
This would’ve been the perfect song for the superbowl 🙌🏾💯
2021 still listening, i first listened to this bootleg in summer of 07, I was 15 riding bike in mountains , south Germany on holiday at my uncle. I listented to this mixtape like 200 times and didnt skipped any song while i was riding bike near Peiting and Schongau, great memories :)
This was in the middle of a 4 year zone Wayne was in where he was just coming up with shit off the top of his head cause he was feeling the beat and his flow so much.
+F2D - Coming up with shit? He really spitting about him growing up in N.O.
+WrapWithVic 40 he meant he was just freestyling everything
Still is and always has. If you were a real fan you would know
+yaabuddyyy i though wayn was back until i heard no ceilling 2

04-07 was Wayne’s true lyrical prime IMO
Man all of waynes song is so much of my childhood. I use to sing his lyrics running around the house, my religious conservative mom would be so angry. I had no care in the world. This song really touched a spot in my heart.
You just had to be there bro. Prime Wayne was like nothing else.
Exactly. The time of prime Wayne was a generally awesome time for music.
