Just returned from a weeks stay at Hacienda Antigua! It’s an amazing place that created some very lasting memories!
A million thanks to Matt, Tammy and Stu for perfectly capturing the essence of our hacienda and our little corner of Mexico! You did it with accuracy and authenticity, and you made it come to life beautifully on film. You really "got it"! Kudos!
Fantastic episode to close the season, but we bet it's just the beginning of your Sense of Place Travel Show story. A huge congratulations to Matt Landau, Tammy, and Stuart, as well as the sponsors of the show. You inspire us to do better and better every day.
Matt. My friend! Our friend! You truly saved the best for last (at least for this season). Well done sir.
wow what an amazing episode to bring to a finale this incredible series. I have never been to Mexico but yet again just like about every show in this series I am now adding this location and property to my bucket list. Congrats to everyone involved, a truly spectacular episode.
My husband and I (when we were engaged) visited Hacienda Antigua and fell in love with the property. Gabe who manages the property mentioned that they have weddings there, so we decided that was our spot. We rented all three houses on the hill. Gabe coordinated with local vendors and Dora cooked the incredible food served at the rehearsal dinner, wedding and a brunch the following day. Gabe and Dora are amazing. This was not a simple wedding, there was a ton of attention to details, we had about 45 people, a dance floor, DJ, an outdoor bar, everything. They did such a great job and this place is magical. It was the best time for us, our family and our guests.
Sarah, Happy almost-two-year anniversary to you and Scott! We were honored that you chose the hacienda for your wedding venue - the pictures were amazing! We'd love to see you again at the hacienda someday soon.
Thanks Kelly!!! We will be back, no question!
I haven't even finished watching this and I love it already!! GREAT job...more later. Well, Rugg & I just finished watching this fantastic episode. And HOW we relate to Frank & Kelley!! They've done a great job with their beautiful property and we've decided - we HAVE to have this experience! Many compliments to Stuart & Tammy & Matt for having done such a great job telling their Story! Baci a tutti from the Casale!
Thank you Debra! Your support this season has been nothing less than incredible and it warms all of our hearts. Cheers to Ruggero and we miss you guys!
Our family were the inaugural guests at Hacienda Antigua! It was absolutely fabulous then and they have added extra outdoor amenities! I can't wait to return!
Thanks Judy! We'd love to host you and your lovely family again :)
Sounds like it would have been a blast to be the inaugural guests, and we can't wait to return, either!
I like "weaving local visitors into the local economy"... Good way of stating that. And it's so important. BTW, The hacienda is pretty fancy compared to places I generally stay but I sure like the locale....rural Mexico is so wonderful. Visitors who say at the resort towns miss what Mexico is really all about. Problem is, I like Mexico so much, when I'm there, I don't want to leave...
Nice grand finale, btw....fireworks were a nice touch.
It is definitely becoming clear to us that this 'weaving,' done properly is the key to successful growth while retaining the local identify, and we were lucky to experience so many examples of this in our travels. Hacienda Antigua was a luxury for us as well, but a place such as Lo del Marcos also has a couple of cute little hostels and vacation rentals that are beyond reasonable and right in the heart of that rural Mexico feeling. We had the same problem, when it came to not wanting to leave!
I am SO looking forward to being there in July. It’s going be awesome!
Oh, we're jealous, enjoy your trip!!!
The best episode, and a great wrap of Season 1 of...? Can’t wait for more!
Another amazing episode! I always look forward to your runs; as I love to also run and explore new running paths!
Season 1 was amazing; can't wait for more! Thank you for inspiring me and challenging me to be a better host to my guests every day!
We're really glad you liked Season 1, and if we've inspired you to be a better host every day then we have succeeded with this show! We'll see about some more running paths in season 2!
So wonderful!! I learn so much from these - but more than that - these encounters are a true viewer experience. Thanks, Matt!
Gisela, this is thrilling feedback for us, as this is exactly what we are aiming for, a touch of the how and why with an immersion in the place and experience!
That combo of view experience and learning is exactly what we're hoping to impart, Gisela, so we're very glad to hear this takeaway!
