    With the new campervan now (bought 6 years ago) 2 X double USB already installed in our van. Ordered the suction cups for outdoor shower and thanks for the tip, using for keys and other things. 👍 Hello from Melbourne.

    I also love my SensorPush - bought it years ago after seeing you share about it. However, this weekend I used it in a new way. We were volunteering at Indiana Dunes NP and needed to monitor the temperature of the inside of our camper van. I had left our Waggle device at home. So I pulled it out of the refrigerator and set it on top of the dog kennel. It wouldn’t be a permanent fix but it worked great in a pinch.

      Our battery just died on this trip. Can only get them on line so you may want to keep one on hand.

    Hi Debbie, My husband and I are big fans of your channel! I know it's not mentioned in this specific video, but we got the indoor-outdoor thermometer you use and is listed in your store. I was wondering if you could tell us how you mounted yours. Looking forward to watching more of your adventures in 2022 and maybe meeting you somewhere out there on the road. Cheers! Ronni

      Thanks Ronni. Not sure which thermometer you mean. Is it the Accurite or the SensorPush? I use the Accurite in the fridge and mount the monitor on a magnet just above the fridge. I stuck the magnet to the laminate with some double sided tape. The SensorPush I placed inside a magnetic hide-a-key box and stuck it under the van so I can monitor freezing temperatures. Let me know if you need more info than that: energymaven@gmail.com

    Hi Debbie, my favorite accessories for our 2016 Ascent:Portable SiriusXM Radio. Not the best OEM sound system, but I love my oldies!Rain shield for roof fan vent. Had to shift the solar panel a bit, but well worth it for those rainy days and nights!Fold-down cup holders on wall between ottomans and bench seat. Had to get pics from PW with paneling removed to find metal mounting.Magnets to replace the Velcro on the window shades. What a difference!Tissue holder above microwave vent. Neatly out of the way but easy to reach.Paper towel holders mounted under the cabinets. Same style as yours! Really handy.Toilet tissue holder in bathroom. Same style and place as yours! Very handy.Spare tire. 2015 was the last year PW provided the spare, so I had to order it from PW as an add-on. But, for me, well worth it since I can just hear them now while I'm roasting in the sun beside a back road.... sure, well come out and put your spare on...what, what...no spare... well, we're gonna need a bigger flatbed and that may take a couple of days.... :)Telescoping ladder and leaf blower. Compact and handy for maintenance.Wanted but don't have: A handy clothes line like you see across the back of many RVs; 2 poles and some clothes line that mount on a square rear bumper. Unfortunately, the Ascent rear bumper is rather unique and not conducive to the standard mounting brackets. Oh well, such is life. The mirrors will have to do for now :)

      OK, I give up. what's the secret to spacing paragraphs. I put spaces in when typing a reply and when posted all the spacing is gone, zoom, vanished.... :)

    Thanks for the tips! I’ve several dedicated sprayers, really cuts down on water usage. No sink, just good trash can serves well.

    I too, depend on the "outdoor" heavy duty Velcro, and the soft packs of tissues. We have found them at one grocery store in our area (Martins, which is part of Giant). I have also installed the magnetic screen doors on the front and slider of our Travato 59K. They work SO much better than the screen doors that come with the vans (used heavy duty outdoor Velcro to put them up). Thanks for sharing! :-)

    • @FromShetoMe
      @FromShetoMe  5 лет назад +1

      +Martha Manigross I sure hope they don't stop selling the tissue.

      From She to Me I agree!!! They squish in anywhere, they are full size, and it’s one of the best ideas ever! :-)

      +Martha Manigross Which probably means they will stop making them available. I’m sure you remember the beta tapes from Sony.

    The 12V adapter looks good, but if you plug all of those things in its a huge drain on your vehicle battery and probably too much for one socket. You'd be better charging things via your house/leisure battery off the solar - especially once the battery is full - all that Solar is going to waste otherwise. A Squirty bottle is on my shopping list now.

    • @FromShetoMe
      @FromShetoMe  5 лет назад

      We only use the front when we are driving because of the convenience. When parked, we use the house battery. Although we also carry a starter battery if needed.

    Debbie, we like your outdoor mat. What size is it and can you let me know where you purchased it? We have a 2018 Lexor. Like your Accenrt, we have limited storage space. Where do you store your it?
    How is your refrigerator working. We are having similar issues with ours.
    We love your channel. Thanks for taking the time to share your space saving and RV living hints.

      +Bill dilution Thanks Bill. I think we got it at Walmart. I had been looking for awhile-for something that folded fairly compactly. We are storing in the new box attached to hitch which sure has come in handy on this trip.
      Now to the fridge. I hesitate to answer just yet because I have found a dealer in Colorado Springs who squeezed us in for Oct 15. I almost posted a video but I keep learning more. Email me and I will share where we are with it so far. Energymaven@gmail.com

    Why do you have a cover for your Spyder panel? They can be set to shut off the backlight after a short time, then come “alive” by just touching the screen.
    Otherwise, I’m a heavy user of Velcro, too. Handy stuff.

      I need to contact them because I have been told that ours is defective. It comes on all by itself in the middle of the night and I can't sleep with any lights on. The one in the back has only done it once.

    Do you keep the devices that you have plugged into the charger up front on the floor? In a basket? Any suggestions?

    • @FromShetoMe
      @FromShetoMe  3 года назад +1

      I've paired down a few things and now keep most things in the back where we can charge multiple devices at a time. In the front, it is usually just our phones being charged but occasionally a camera.

    Debbie, I watched TWICE to make sure I didn't miss WHAT the Dirty Girl Gaiters are for! I'm thinking mostly for looks … then we saw on Dirty Girls home that it helps keep debris out of your shoes … albeit "fashionably." Just a hair of positive criticism: It's kind of emotional pain to hear someone talk about something without saying what its function is. For me, anyway! Really do appreciate your videos. We're new Class B owners.
    I don't guess you were at Cottonwood Campground, Theodore Roosevelt National Park anytime, August to September were you? I was campground host then and you look REALLY familiar to me!

    • @FromShetoMe
      @FromShetoMe  5 лет назад

      +Jim Brown No, I’ve not been to that park yet. And regarding the gaiters, I assumed too much. I should have known everyone doesn’t hike. Thanks for watching (twice). ;-))

    Thank you for sharing your ideas to make van life easier. Where did you get your push light and would you be able to read by it. Do not like the reading lights over the bed. They are too bright.You made me laugh when your husband was trying on the gaiters.

    • @FromShetoMe
      @FromShetoMe  5 лет назад +1

      +Laura crowley Hmmm. Pretty sure I got it on Amazon. I will see if I can find it. I’m not sure where you would place it to use it as a reading lamp and get enough light to not strain your eyes. But they are really cheap so you can always give it a try. I think a headlamp from any outdoor gear store would be a better option, especially if you can find one with a soft white lamp.
